I'm tired of hearing about the great Matt Campbell

We make the most dumbest mistakes that real teams wouldn't in critical situations. We could have lost that UNI game itself if not for that fumble save in overtime. Three years in a row we were in a position to get over the hump. We just doesn't seem to get rid of old self destruction culture yet!
IMO, the coaches expect certain behavior, without giving out blunt reminders at key points in the game. (In any sport), we all need to be reminded at critical junctures to,, hold onto the ball with two hands, be alert, watch where you line up, keep you eye on the ball. Think. You can't say things in practice on Wednesday, and then expect kids to perform at game time without constant reminders. Not, if you pride yourself on paying attention to details.

My biggest takeaway from Saturday was that those are two good teams that have a lot in front of them. Some of you Nancy's need to sack up and just accept the loss. The little things that cost us the game are 100% correctable and I'm still expecting big things this year.

BillBrasky...you nailed it.

Those attacking the coaching staff after this game fit one or all of the following categories: low football IQ, are actually Hawkfans, are under 16 years of age and therefore clueless, were drunk when posting, have no comprehension of how far this program has progressed under Campbell...and to be redundant...have a low football IQ.

None of this is to say mistakes weren't made and that the staff has work to do...and that valid criticisms can be made about this game....but damn...if you can't appreciate that this is one of the best coaching staffs in the country...well....you simply know nothing about college football.

I've never seen Matt Camobell before. Guess it's working.

Big things as in wining 7 or 8 games and going to a bowl? I think most still expect that. Big things as in fully capitalizing on the defense and the opportunity to have a great year? Much less likely as the offense and special teams look a lot like the past two seasons.

The only fans that need to sack up are those that are still so damaged from the 80's and 90's that they can't handle other fans voicing displeasure over losses due to self-inflicted mediocrity.

Oh I don't know? I suppose playing for a FUC**** conference title is still in play.

Everyone overreacting to a 1 point loss to a solid Iowa team is comical. When have we looked good early on in the season under Campbell. The oline and play calling looked improved and that's what I was hoping for, eliminate some mental errors and we are good.

This season is is looking similar to the previous two, and I'm not just referencing the overall record. Also, big mistakes continue to show themselves. Won't beat tougher competition with the continual mistakes, however I don't see them stopping anytime soon. I predict a similar overall record as the previous two.

It will be horrible to finish 7-5 or 8-4 with a winning record in the Big 12 for the third year in a row.

Your point? The ******* CFP is still in play.

Don't be a sackless ***** over people expressing the belief that we're not likely to win more than 7 or 8 games in the regular season if we continue to play like we have on offense and ST (for nearly two years).

Predicting 7-8 wins in the regular season isn't controversial. Describing it as a disappointment and a coaching failure is what's annoying.

I think Vegas had ISU at a 7.5 win total or something so it's not like it would be mind blowing if it didn't happen.

ISU's defense should carry it but imo good defense is also defined by its ability to get off the field in crucial moments, which didn't happen Saturday consistently.

The next two weeks will be telling, but heck, that may not even define the last 8 weeks.

So you're not someone like BillBrasky that is "still expecting big things this year", who later goes on to allude to that a being a conference title. How negative of you.

7 wins would be a disappointment, and you should rethink which one of us is annoyingly down on the program and staff if you feel otherwise.
8 wins would be a missed opportunity, which conventionally is viewed as disappointing.

I never expressed 7 or 8 wins as a coaching failure. There is a substantial difference between a season being a disappointment (7 wins) or missed opportunity (8 wins), and a coaching failure.Try not to resort to straw mans, it's annoying and erodes your point.

What would be a failure is the offense and ST if it ends up being 7 or 8 wins because of them.

I'm sure in your mind this isn't a contradiction, but I'm also sure if I point it out I'd be annoyingly creating straw men.

Head coaches are only as good as the assistant coaches they hire and the recruits they get. Right now Heacock is making Campbell look like a genious. The offensive coordinator is making him look like not so much a genius. If Heacock retires or takes on a job somewhere else we will find out how good Matt Campbell is. Right now he is looking pretty good. If we could get the offense to figure out how to score touchdowns inside the 30. He would be looking super good. CPR could not recruit. Didn't have good coaches that could recruit either.
