You did see Dudley Blackwell there, talking quite a bit with halliburton's Dad. And I think they were sitting next to Pollard.
From my understanding, Hilton Madness was a Fred thing that he wanted to see built up into something big like what they do at Kansas or Kentucky like eventually having celebrities show up. Ultimately that plan either died out because they didn't see it feasible or it died when Fred left.
Lol. And any of the other guards can? Lewis can play the 4th guard.Ah I see. My point still stands Lewis can’t play the 4.
I'm hoping Griffin is a better rebounding Deonte Burton.
I don't see why Lewis can't be the 4 in a 4 guard lineup. Aren't him and Griffin the same height? Griffin might have some muscle on him but it isn't like either is very stout.
I think it would come more naturally for Zion considering he was the starting Center on his HS Team. Spent alot more time guarding the post before getting to Ames.I don't see why Lewis can't be the 4 in a 4 guard lineup. Aren't him and Griffin the same height? Griffin might have some muscle on him but it isn't like either is very stout.
Given we usually play most minutes only 7 deep, and the two off the bench have to be a 1-3 guy and a 4,5 guy, doesn't that make Griffin less likely than Conditt and Lewis or Jackson?
Given the starting lineup, thinking Jackson can play 1-3, Lewis 2-4, and Conditt 4-5, but Griffin likely a 4 only guy. All this assumes short minutes and not their primary role.
I think you’re right. Prohm says he likes to play 7 and a half so there’s a good choice Zion is that half and we don’t go smaller than Zion at the 4. Keep the 5 rotation simple between Solo and Conditt.
You could also have Zion being the backup at 4 and Jacobsen just moves between 4 and the 5 spot he played exclusively last year. It would require Zion being good enough to compete with Conditt for minutes.
Prohm has already talked on camera about trying lineups with Nixon, Tyrese, or Bolton at the 4. To be honest, once I heard that, I pretty much gave up on Lewis being a significant contributor. Because the only reason to play those guys at the 4 is because he’s thinking about ways to get Jackson or Leech (or Steyer) in the lineup.
The whole super small ball with 4 straight up guards surprises me. Maybe fallout of moving the 3 pt line and lack of options. If prohm didn't say it I'd never believe it.
You remind me of Dustin Hogue when he got grumpy. ;-)I would rather him be another Ejim type player, or a Fizer type player, maybe even a Kenny Pratt, or Damion Staple type player! Why is everyone so obsessed with wanting everyone to be like Hogue? I get it he is and was a damn good player. But the wishful comparison everyone has on this board is getting old. Find another player to want current players to be like!
Get me my tooth pick stat! You remind me of Dustin Hogue when he got grumpy. ;-)
My guess is that they’re just thinking for a case where we struggle to defend on the perimeter and Griffin and Lewis aren’t ready.
No Hilton Madness.
I’ve tweeted at CycloneMBB to hold an open practice for like 5 years now and they finally do it but they do it right on a day where I have to be in a wedding which sucks.
It took a decade to recover from Van and Bonnie emceeing it. Let’s just not take any risks like that again.
