He has caused problems like this in the past. He has no people skills and he is a little too "by the book", which means parking loves him.

Hah - a picture of Farva from Super Troopers just popped into my head after reading this. Farva: "Hey, let's pop some Viagras and issue tickets with raging, mega-huge b*ners." Not sure that I should post that, but couldn't resist. :)

Does this guy happen to look like Farva?

I actually got ticked off at the parking guy and told him to call the cops on me. I told him to ask for a few of the guys that I personally know (and have for like 10 years). He didn't call anyone, but he wouldn't leave us alone. He SWORE at me and I went over to the other guys and asked for the supervisor. Some old guy who got ticked he had to get out of his truck came over. I told him that we are DONORS and not the student lot and they needed to have a little more respect. I also told him we had no problems in D-2 with anything we have been having problems with this year in G7. I have been too busy to e-mail anyone yet. But, I have the guys card and am planning on sending an e-mail to Pollard about the treatment of Donors in G7. I was so mad that some punk *** 20 year old thinks he can cuss at me and get away with it as a parking guy. I'm sorry, but they are being ridiculous and it needs to stop! I don't need to park so close to people that I can barely open my car door and don't have any room to tailgate.

The students are giving more the to University each year then you are, especially out of state students so I think they deserve the same respect you are looking for. No need to think you should be treated better then current students.

I will agree that quite a few of the parking dept "employees" get a real power trip out of putting on a neon vest once a week. I can't believe how rude they are sometimes and the lack of common courtesy they treat people with.

So is this a different guy than the Hawk-homer who actually wears his Hawk baseball cap to the lots?

No - I've never really seen this guy parking cars. This guy is a little older. Most of the "parkers" are college kids. It's not the kid who wears the hawk hat. I'll give those kids a bit of credit - I'm sure they're just doing as they're told. This guy seems to take things upon himself.

I know the DB your talking about. He's the same crackhead that even though the parking lot never gets more then a 1/3 full makes sure that everyone parks so there is barely enough room to pull out if you leave before everyone else and makes it impossible to have a tent with them a-holes making sure you follow their 'pack em in like sardines' rule. I got the bastard this last week though as they got a little lax in making sure people pulled all the way up. I pulled up to the white line and stopped with no one in front of me. We got out and went walking just as the DB comes over and makes us all pull up. I kept walking and they didn't know who's truck was not parked right. We walked down and talked to some friends until the next row was filled up and then came back and actually had some room to tailgate. What that guy needs is a good *** whoopin.

During the KU game, somehow they managed to park the first 3 rows right on top of each other. People had to weave between cars and find a hole to get out.

Minus the mustache - a little bit, yes. He does seem to have a similar attitude.

How much of a student's tuition counts as a Cyclone Club donation? I wish I would have known about this ultra-secret option when I was in school.

This statement is ridiculous. I don't know too many students freely donating money to ISU athletics.

If you want the contact information for the individual in charge of parking and all event management, pm me. I don't want to post his name and number online.

I had an issue with the traffic flow and he was very helpful.

Hilarious and right on! Sorry I'm not saying that students should be treated like crap, but I am not going to even step into that comment.

I believe the majority of us on here can B#$# because we all have already paid our 4 years of tuition. Of course if ISU invested our tuition money, it would not be worth anything in today's market.

I don't want to come off like an ***, but dont y'all have a list of allowed tailgating rules?

Down here in Aggieland, the rules are pretty specific.

As far as parking, the descriptions y'all are giving makes it seem like the parking is in dirt lots and fields. Is that right? Our parking is in campus parking lots.

I'm just curious. Best of luck this weekend.

Both. There are donor lots in the parking lots around the stadium that are concrete, and then a lot of grass lots where lesser donors, students and visitors park. The lot in question is a grass lot if I am not mistaken

If you're planning on coming up, you can find a map of the parking lots on the athletics webpage

I said money to the University, that's where tuition goes isn't? I didn't say donating to the Athletic Dept.

My point was just because you give money to have a parking spot doesn't mean you should be treated better because of it. We're all equal. I shouldn't get S*** on because I park in the grass lot and you shouldn't get s*** on because you park in the cement lot.

From the ISU athletic WEBSITE gameday polices....Think you might have been given a copy with your season tickets.

Tailgating Policies
Please limit your tailgating to one parking space and do not block the path for other vehicles to park. Remember to clean up your area before departing. No glass bottles, kegs or open fires are allowed in parking lots. Tents can be no larger than 10’x10’.

What's a closed fire then? If not what the original poster had.

Apparently thats what the guard is being picky about....don't know if I would have a fire of any kind that you can't shut down immediately.

We use a 40,000 btu LP heater in the cold AM last Sat, then hook up our barbeque grill when we want to eat.

We had a lot of fun tailgating at A&M a few years ago; got offered plenty of BBQ

I'm a current student too! So, where does that argument leave you now? I also work for the university, am a member of CC, have football and basketball season tickets and did my undergrad work at ISU too. That is not why I think I deserve respect. I don't deserve to be cussed at by some d-bag kid who also is representing the university. I also deserve to park by my friends who we moved lots to park with as we arrive at the same time or damn close to it.
