Being the know it all recliner coach that I am, there are a lot of changes/suggestions/complaints I could offer, however, it's a FACT that you have to make baskets to win a basketball game.
Running down the court and throwing up shots is not an offense, and it certainly isn't working for us this year. This team should pass the ball at least four times every single possesion until they get a feel and start making shots.

If only there was someone in the organization paid millions to get the players to do that.

After nine games of really poor shooting, I'll be curious if CSP changes the lineup. Thinking we can go four guards when only one can shoot threes isn't a winning strategy. At a minimum, Conditt needs to start and play as long as his conditioning allows.

Or, at a minimum, pulls guys when they continue to jack up 3s five feet behind the 3 point line. There have been no consequences so far, so they continue to shoot poor shots.

I've stuck with CSP but I'm starting to lean and games like TCU last season and this type of evening are bothersome.

Me too. I’m still in his corner but it’s hard to watch him and his team make the same mistakes over and over with no changes.

We are staring at missing the NCAA tournament 2 out of 3 years with the other year being an upset first round loss. That’s....not good.

I just don't understand how guards can't shoot 3's. I am at girls AAU games all the time. 7th grade girls and they make more 3's than our team. It's crazy to think that we don't have anyone that can knock down a 3.

This board is going to be so awful for the next 10 days.

for the people clambering for a lineup change, what good would it do? They all suck at shooting.

I had to sit next to an old lady wearing an Iowa state shirt cheering for Iowa. She made my night miserable before the game started. Hopefully I made her miserable.

I can’t understand how someone can’t figure out their original username. Life’s full of mystery.

After all the hawks celebrated and taunted you on your home court, I hope this team responds and has some pride.

I'm curious what our record is against high majors in Hilton the last 2-3 years?

Chris, you mentioned, "Maybe it was something in the scouting report that was missed." In reference to Weiskamp and CMac getting into the lane whenever they wanted.

I suggested yesterday before the game that Prohm should have his team this watch the tape of the game in IC from last year. Which I had just done.
Last night, it felt exactly like I was re-watching that tape. Iowa gets every loose ball. Iowa beats slogging ISU defenders down the court over and over. ISU can't "box out" Iowa shots b/c Iowa simply is dictating their own shot placements, and getting long rebounds.
As we used to say when I was in the service: Same ****, different day.

Like I said in a previous thread, DVR is great I watched the entire game in less than 10 minutes, Started watching Frosty the Snowman. Frosty never disappoints.

it's hard to discuss with out people thinking it's knee jerk or a result of one game, etc...

the thing is, Coach Prohm has been using the same lines post-game for years now. Things about toughness, not executing, not playing defense...these are his areas. How are our players not up for this game. How do they not want it more. WTF is that all about?

I realize the kids play the game but IMO, we continue to be out coached regularly. Our offense is wandering and lost, our defense is terrible and for yet another year, we have ZERO on-court leadership like we've had in the past.

Come at me all you want. I truly like Steve Prohm. He's a class guy and I think he's a good recruiter...but I have yet to see him put a game plan together or show a lasting execution for any of his teams.

He either needs to hire someone to help him or I fear this is going to be the constant for us. And for as much as we all can't stand Fran, his guys play in a "system" and it works for them. They aren't more athletic, but they are a better "team" and it showed last night.

This is correct. I just don't understand how the team could not get up to play Iowa. Maybe the game just does not mean the same to them as it does to us being Iowans.

We did so many dumb things last night. We would do a pick and roll and Garza would end up guarding Halliburton and JBo would end up guarding Solo. Yet, Solo would shoot a 10 footer instead of taking Jbo to school on the block, Halliburton would not just blow by the slower Garza. It was super frustrating.

I think I saw in another thread it is 12-11. Not good.

I've stood up for him in the past, but last night may be the moment Prohm lost me. Its not just the one game; its becoming a recurring thing where our team looks completely outcoached.

Lots of season left, so hopefully things get better. Thank goodness he has that recruiting class coming in next year.

Have to get the best players on the floor and stop making it so complicated. Young and conditt need to play together and they need to play slower at times. There aren’t 4 guards that can play on this team, so you gotta steal minutes here and there
