Not really the same situation but Darius McNeill very easily jumped and left after signing a LOI.
Apples and oranges but yes Blackwell has a reason to get out. Nobody else does

I think there will be more support for this program, than many others that have been or are in this position, but no doubt it will decrease with every bad loss.If we have a fanbase worth anything, it should be to support the program and complain after every loss. More likely it will be apathy and loss of interest though.
Was Prohm always the number one target to replace Fred? Were others interviewed and have they turned out to be really good elsewhere?
I remembering hearing Marshall wanted the job very very badly but his price tag was too much. Kind of a bummer.
Jamie wanted TJ and Leath wanted Steve, iirc. Was Prohm always the number one target to replace Fred? Were others interviewed and have they turned out to be really good elsewhere?

He’ll be back because of the recruiting class and specifically Xavier Foster.Let's be honest though, the only reason Prohm will be back next year is because of $$ and his contract.
But more specifically because we have no other choice, financially, unfortunately..He’ll be back because of the recruiting class and specifically Xavier Foster.

It was more of Fred giving his blessing. Iowa State used a search agency to find the next coach after Fred.I thought Fred recommended CSP.

And on the flip side, if he gets fired, the recruiting class is gone. Particularly for Foster's case, who we know is coming to play for us in order to get to the pros -- where Prohm has put multiple players already. He’ll be back because of the recruiting class and specifically Xavier Foster.
Underwood also.Drew who went to Vandy, TJ and Prohm
Underwood also.
Prohm is the best of that list (not a big TJ fan) but....yikes on those candidates.
Said this in another thread but are our guys in the NBA really there because of development from CSP? Seems like CSP is good at recruiting somewhat ready made NBA talent though. And on the flip side, if he gets fired, the recruiting class is gone. It's a tough spot to be in. If you keep him, the program may tank further in a year or two. If you don't, the program likely tanks now and you're starting all over with what's likely another flyer on a mid-major or failed P6 coach.
