If it’s true I would rather lose him now. We lost McNeil really late and didn’t have much time to recruit a new guy for that position. If the kid wants to be home by his sick mom I wish him all the luck. Sounds like he wanted to come here but I get it. If that is the recruit we are talking about and I think it is.
I think there will be more support for this program, than many others that have been or are in this position, but no doubt it will decrease with every bad loss.
The one good thing for this team, is that if they do get a nice win, that will spark a little interest. You know you're in trouble when even a big win doesn't excite the fan base. I think Rhoads dropped to that level, and it's yet to be determined if Prohm is there.
Was Prohm always the number one target to replace Fred? Were others interviewed and have they turned out to be really good elsewhere?

that’s true. Forgot that. Pollard might have a short leash for Prohm since he wasn’t his guy and Leath is gone. Still no way he’s gone this year but if we stink next year I bet he is.

It was more of Fred giving his blessing. Iowa State used a search agency to find the next coach after Fred.
I would hope they would have a follow up analysis with the search agency. Guessing the issue is price point limitations.
And on the flip side, if he gets fired, the recruiting class is gone. Particularly for Foster's case, who we know is coming to play for us in order to get to the pros -- where Prohm has put multiple players already.
It's a tough spot to be in. If you keep him, the program may tank further in a year or two. If you don't, the program likely tanks now and you're starting all over with what's likely another flyer on a mid-major or failed P6 coach.

Prohm is the best of that list (not a big TJ fan) but....yikes on those candidates.
Nothing tops(?) the list of candidates we had when Larry "resigned" before we hired Wayne. Woof.
Said this in another thread but are our guys in the NBA really there because of development from CSP? Seems like CSP is good at recruiting somewhat ready made NBA talent though.
And now isn't the right time to just 'go get T.J'. If that's a serious consideration, and I'm an AD I'm seeing how he does in two seasons at UNLV so there's signs of 'his' culture there and what it looks like.
And as bad as it looks now, letting go of Prohm one year removed from an NCAA tourney appearance isn't great either.
I'd bet we'll see some sort of change this Saturday for a little 'resurgence' of sorts for him to save face for last night. Line up or position change, defensive intensity, whatever but it's doubtful there will be much consistency.
Foster's career here is doomed to end up like Lazards if he sticks around 4 years, lots of beatdowns, a coaching change, and if hes not good enough to declare early his senior year would be the soonest the program is competitive again.
