So when the announcers were saying foul immediately, they didn't mean it? With the way TCU was shooting 3s tonight, I certainly would have taken my chances fouling early. And I wouldn't have had any player of ours past the 3 point line defending. Prohm ****** up again.
Well first of all, announcers are from experts on the rules, nor are they very great at strategy, but i never said don't foul, or don't foul early. I just said that you can't foul before the inbounds pass, because they will likely call an intentional foul.

My preference was that they foul as soon as TCU started dribbling. It didn't get done.

Some are so blind to what a bad coach is it’s comical
Agreed. Guess I’m old school, but the culture comes from the top. Winning, losing, and execution are a direct reflection of the leadership or lack thereof.

This does not mean I don’t like Prohm or think he is not a good man. The trend with this staff is undeniable.

Edit - I don’t he is a bad coach but needs work.

Box score showed 5 guys in double figures? Hit good average of FTs. Outrebounded by 1 by a more physical taller and longer team? Hit good average of 3s?

So yeah - half-dimensional REALLY seems to capture it...o_O

I like our ball-reversal and movement w/o the ball t'night; looked much better than previous games. Unfortunately I was thinking if we executed that offense, we'd win :(

Reductionist theory says there is no gravity, only CSP that sucks. CSP is responsible but that doesn't mean everything is his fault.
Again, this is just one example of a lot of 'execution' issues leading to losses. I tend to think its mostly due to inexperience (read: roster turnover), yet that is a whole new can of worms.

Let's change the focus to how bad a coach Dixon is that he needed a freak banked 3 just to take what some think is the worst team in basketball history into OT? THAT guy should be fired. No excuse to need OT to beat ISU...

E

Cheese and rice.

Except their TCU. Are we trying to be TCU or are we aspiring for a bit more. It was a combination of poor execution and poor coaching at the end. They have practiced late game before and clearly George wasn’t supposed to be attached at mid-Court. Bolton didn’t even have his head on a swivel to give the foul prior to the pick. Really good effort but I imagine this doesn’t help the cohesiveness of the locker room.

And that's even stupider than what I thought he had them do

He said he wanted them to use approx. 3 seconds of the clock which would have put them at half court before fouling. Unfortunately Bolton got fouled right at half court.

I"m 100% sure Steve told them to foul, Dixon knew they'd foul as soon as he crossed half court so they set the screen at that spot. He was one step ahead of Steve.

"Okay guys.....ISU is going to foul us right after we get across half court....so go ahead and just chuck it."
