We as fans need to do better.

I'll never understand the mentality that makes people harass players because they don't play good enough to win games. Coaches make a bit more sense since they are paid a lot of money to win games but unpaid players is embarrassing.

All this mid season negativity is really damaging to the team and the program. It serves no constructive purpose. Let the season happen. If you can't support the team, then take a break and go away. I know most people don't want the team to fail, but what they are doing is making it harder for the team to succeed. Evaluate the season after the season.

To me this is not hard:

A) Tweeting negatives things directly to, or really even about, a player is a no-no;
B) Personal attacks are a no-no;
C) Criticisms of a coach that avoid being nasty or personal in nature, fine.

My thought is at the point you go from having a discussion to an argument it's probably time to walk away from the phone/computer.

Wow. In all honesty you strike me as being a remarkably arrogant person.
I do not claim to be a basketball expert I played mediocre level basketball at a very small Iowa high school. But when u challenge a D1 coach with something like I don’t know why you recruit lefties I assume you must be an expert. This info may indicate lefty point guards do actually have some success in the league.

Hey @CloneFan4, what exactly is funny about this?

The fact that it turns out no fan directly tweeted at the players yet Chris feels the need to "be a hero" and throw his own fan base under the bus. The virtue signaling by the "I'm a holier fan than thou" crowd is utterly pathetic and you're helping driving that bus.

Says the guy who calls people who don't want to throat punch Prohm "morons".

Next Christmas is still a long ways away, but put self-awareness at the top of your wishlist.

Yes and they are complete ******* morons. Same with those defending Prohm

Where in the above quote do you see any mention of violence towards anyone? Sooo unlike you to exaggerate and blow something completely out of proportion.

How? Prohm should instruct players to stop having such concerns about what fans are saying.

Even if nobody directly tweeted players. The tweets destroying them and CSP are still out there by the hundreds and show up all over their Twitter feed. If I'm seeing negative ISU things being tweeted by people I don't follow I'm sure they are too.

People should be allowed to respectfully share their frustrations with this team and coach on their own timeline. Direct tweeting a player obviously crosses the line but are we seriously going to self police our fanbase into not spreading any criticism at all?

Its obvious part of cyclone nation wants a change. Whether you like it or not, in the 21st century social media is a means of promoting change.

are we talking about tweeting at a player/coach or using Twitter to criticize a player or a coach? Kinda different...maybe we're talking about all of it.

i think we disagree on what’s respectful. And the change isn’t happening now. Why not lay-off it until the end of the year?
