Even after last season when he won the Big 12 Tournament Championship and got us a 6 seed?

if you're going to use this argument, you can't say anything about players leaving. You're giving him the credit for the wins and the 6 seed so he should be able to do it with these players, right?

Nothing. I'm saying, look at the writing on the wall. There are clear signs we're just not very good.
I wish I could disagree, but when you look at the schedule it's hard to see more than 5-6 wins in the conference season. That is not going to get close to the tourney.

Hope I'm wrong.

This roster is pretty bad so I'm not sure what you're talking about. I was responding to someone who said they supported him even last year when we won a Big 12 Tournament title and got a 6 seed. Lol I'd hope you'd support a coach who did that

that just the reality of this message board

support and commend him when hes doing well

tear him down and hate him when hes not

i didnt see one person last year during our big 12 title run say, "dang his x's and o's are terrible" or "he cant coach" or "this is why he needs fired"

lol

Yes because of how he handled Wigginton, his general failures with the lineups that cost us games. Tons of talent on that roster that was held back by a less than good ability to coach.

Wigginton played more minutes in the Big 12 and the postseason than THT.

You're glossing over the context of the post you pulled that from. In a vacuum, the tournament championship and a 6 seed are very good for Iowa State. But that's not how it works. Prohm made several poor decisions last season that held the team back. We're only as good as Prohm will let the talent be.

And I think thats where a lot of us Prohm out guys are worried. We felt CPR was given way too much time from Pollard and do not want to see the same mistake made. Change doesn't happen without others pushing for it. Obviously keep it respectful and don't personally attack the team or the coaches, but to ask others, who are sharing their frustrations in a respectful way, to be silenced is ridiculous.

But see that's where I disagree. I think that if we had fired Rhoads two years earlier, you don't get a guy like Campbell and you don't have the stability that was necessary for Campbell to come in and win. Rhoads recruited guys like Spears and Butler, who were pretty important to our success.

Obviously none of us know, but it isn't just automatic that an earlier firing would have been beneficial.

So, you think he handled Wigginton's minutes appropriately?

Well since Wiggs was playing pretty good at the end of the year, I think you could say he did handle it appropriately.

I certainly didn't think he deserved more minutes after he pretty much lost the Kansas State game at Hilton by himself.

The key is that neither one of us know.

Can't argue with that and its a solid point. Who is to know what we could pull as a replacement in present time. That will definitely play into Jamie's thinking when he reevaluates things in the coming seasons. Some of us could be overestimating the pull our program has, although with Hilton, a foundation of success over the past decade, solid facilities and a boss that is one of the best in the nation I would think there would be some attractive candidates drooling over the job.

There wasn't last time (although the fact that our previous coach screwed us over and left in June was a big reason why).
