Regardless of how this relates to this thread, Evansville is not good. Much worse than Iowa State. Kentucky losing to them, at home, is crazy.

Not my intent. Meant that even with the original coach and that player, Kentucky losing to them was a huge upset. Evansville was not a tournament team even then. That's all. I didn't even go back to read how this is connected to this thread.

It is perfectly fair. As an example in the last game vs WVU, the announcers praised Huggins for his coaching job this year - not having the normal, pressing guards that he's use to, and switching to a 2 Big line up to take advantage of his current teams strengths. Meanwhile, CSP keeps running basically a 4 guard offense out there after his starting crew changes - how many times have we seen Solo and Conditt on the court at the same time? Umm, that would be basically ZERO! I still think they would compliment each other on both offense and defense. George gets beat up and he's typically on the court with 4 of the following: Bolton, Nixon, Jackson, Grill and Griffen...I'm still concerned with what happens next year adding Foster to the mix? I don't think Steve knows how to maximize his big guys.

Conditt and Solo together on the court would be an absolute disaster. Solo not being able to guard pick and roll is one of the major flaws on this team and the only way he's able to play is if they switch everything. On offense, you have two guys who can't hit anything outside of 10 feet. That clogs the lane and eliminates driving lanes. Jacobson may not be a great outside shooter, but at least you have to guard him out there.

There is never a good time to burn a 2 for 1 on an individual who will not start for your team. You can get that exact player through grad transfer route without tying up a scholly for 2 years or through the JUCO route and get two years of production.

And Prentiss has been horrendous from an offensive efficiency standpoint. It shouldn’t not have been unforeseen given his CSU career but the fact he is taking 11 shots per game for us is unthinkable when you consider he shoots 34% from the field and 24% from 3 pt range. And the shot selection that is being displayed to Jackson and Grill by Prentiss is just insane.

I disagree vehemently that it could be worse without him. As bad as Caleb might be on offense he is at least aware of his offensive limitations something that Nixon is immune to.

Disagree with just about everything here. I think that we should be having at least one sit out guy every year. Otherwise, there's too many guys on the bench and that can cause locker room problems with guys who think they should be playing.

Nixon wasn't great this year. But I also think that they asked him to do too much. If you can get a decent player and have him sit a year and learn the system, that CAN be better than a grad transfer. It probably wasn't in this case, but he did start almost every game. When he was signed, we had TH coming back and thought we had THT. Then they got Bolton. You would think that guys like Griffen and Lewis would take a step forward, but they didn't. This team was doomed when THT went pro and the bench guys didn't get better.

No I dont, but i expect us to beat bottom half big 12 teams, Iowa and Florida a&M but that's too much because we only have one elite 8 in 20 years

I couldn’t agree more. There was very little from an X&O perspective that could be done.

I’m generally in favor of sit out transfers(even sit 1 play 1). Nixon was just a very poor evaluation by the staff.

Context again. I hate everything Huggins brought to college basketball, but his only "down year" period happened in his transition to the Big 12. Otherwise, one off year in forever. He's not a valid example on this.

Weber has long-noted recruiting problems. Down years should be expected from him, but also not tolerated, because recruiting matters.

not picking a fight. I don’t understand the disdain for Huggins. He put several programs on the map. Resurrected KSU. Went home and STAYED. Players play really hard. Fast paced physical and fun to watch. Seems really dedicated to his players. Remember a few years back in the tournament I believe one of his players had a traumatic leg injury? Bob was laying on the floor holding the kid. I’m sold.
