I’m starting to get on board with Drew Buggs. His numbers are not overly impressive but all solid. 9.4 pts, 4.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists. I think he could come in and be a NWB for next years squad. Solid role player that will help you win games.

man i’m tired of seeing Mizzou listed with us, also looks like the people saying that Buggs was out on us were wrong? He’s been a little polarizing on here but with 4 spots and no one to really be a true PG yet, I’m all for him.

He can be a nice piece if you add another scoring guard/wing. He’s got good intangibles and will buy into a role as a facilitator. Bolton, ______, JJ, and Solomon all need to be scoring options ahead of him.

He can’t be the best addition this Spring though or we’re in trouble.

He will not be a scorer at the B12 level; if he can take care of the ball and play good defense that’s what we need as we currently have neither.

What happened to all the people who said we were out on Buggs because we slow played him, and he’s staying out west?

I was one who said it and something definitely changed from the end of last week...glad to be wrong(if you want him) he fills a need and has major connections here, really is a battle Steve needs to win

Buggs would be a great get at this point. Thanks for the info as always and hopefully our late push is finally going to pay off

What happened to all the Pac12 and Zag offers? If he really turned those down, we need to slow play everyone! We’ve been recruiting guys too hard, haha!

Thanks for the info, both then and now.

We need a bigger guard, and a guard with some pg capabilities. Buggs hits on both, or at least he’s not 5’8”!.And he’s a good program guy.

Wait, wut?!?!
Well then that is a bit out of left field but a pleasant surprise. The staff definitely keeps the info on the DL.

Getting a PG to move Bolton to a secondary PG role and ensuring Jackson can be the 2 guard at both spot (with a chance to move into the starting 5 if ready) is the goal of the offseason.

Buggs seems tailor made for what we need. Not someone who will come in and be "the guy", but a guy who is fully capable of being an important cog in the lineup. Gets Bolton off the ball where he can really be the guy.
I agree. I think Bolton, Jackson and Javan Johnson have the ability to be main contributors for scoring on the team. Throw in a Foster, Blackwell and hopefully another solid transfer and we have a team that can play. They aren't going to be in the top half of the conference, but you won't be cussing out your TV due to the "hero" ball beginning played.

The assist/TO ratio ain't great and his shooting percentage is TRASH. If he comes in to be a pass first point guard, that would be a great addition to the team. If he's another Nixon, no thank you.

If we are able to get a scoring wing then Buggs has always been one of the best PG options for us. Had one of the highest assist % of the GTs. Also, if Jackson makes big strides and plays well enough that you have to start him, you could get away with Buggs, Bolton, Jackson all starting.

I'm hoping that he suffered a bit from the same problem Bolton had last year after TH went out (lack of good offensive options around him leading into double teams in the pick and roll). He appears to at least be able to present an offensive threat to break down the defense.

On Bartovik, ISU gets worse when you add Buggs to the roster... I get they just need bodies at this point but there are others I would want more.
