Yeah they took Prince who was an assistant at Virginia who is not really that good so why would you not take an assisstant at Florida who is really good. Not to mention he has head coaching experience and managed to take Iowa state to 5 bowl games. Yeah that would suck to get Dan Mac as a coach. Maybe KSU will take a Duke assisstant or something like that.

I am a huge DMac fan and I don’t think we should have fired him. However, his overall record in 12 seasons here was 56-85. I don’t think K-State alumni would go for that.

I think its a great move for KSU. Get a guy with a -.500 winning percentage as a head coach who ****ed away a shot at the B12 North title in the last game of the season twice, had an abyssmal record versus ranked teams and never beat Texas or OU, oh also never beat UNL in Lincoln during that programs lowest point in forty years and lost the boise bowl and texas bowl.

I can't believe I got sucked in to the board drama/meltdown around the Patterson deal. Quick summary: the guy that runs their Rivals site (GoPowerCat.com, I think) had sources that told him it was a done deal, a verbal agreement. He published that info. Patterson denied any agreement. Speculation says it still could happen, but since the season isn't over, there will be no news about it. There wasa good post yesterday about how Patterson could have masterminded the whole thing - the leak to setup his known market value (rumoured at $10M/5yrs), then denied (he still looks good), and in the end he looks good and gets paid (at TCU, KSU, or elsewhere.) Supposedly, he played Minnesota the same way in '06.

Interesting rumourmill from 2000 or so when Patterson was hired at TCU. Guess who else was a candidate to to replace Fran? Danny Mac...
