Still a lot of questions to be addressed, but JP has consistently demonstrated that he thinks through the issues. Personally, I like that ISU is being aggressive and plans to be a leader on this.

I guess if you look at the SEZ charts, that gives you a sense of how many already opted out, since we were informed today that we will hold our original seats. So the only space that has been created is by those opting out. I also expect a lot less than 25,000 will show.

The main bummer for me is no "tailgating". I can keep the grill/tent packed, but since there will be four of us in our group, sitting behind our car in lawn chairs to have some cold ones before the game is no different than us driving up to the game together.

But rest assured, I will follow the rules.

I'd imagine that part of the Athletic Department's thinking is knowing if people get too comfortable watching from home they may start to wonder what they are spending all that money on. I used to love going to games, and I still do. But once we had kids and started staying home for games more I realized I kind of liked it.

I could see that. For us we tailgate with family, so until that is no longer an option, we will always be back (plus we are already going to be donating anyways for mens /womens basketball tickets, so we'd might as well go to football :) )

Yeah, looking at that seating chart reinforces our decision to opt out this season. BTW, our seats are "occupied". I don't know if that's because the recent opt outs are still included in the chart, or if they have already "re-assigned" our seats.

Whoever gets them - cheer loudly for me, please!
Ours is the same -> still listed as occupied on the chart.. so maybe the charts were originally based on the 30k season tickets or they are just behind a few days.
When I first looked I thought ours were but I realized that grey is occupied and red is empty/unavailable which in my mind is backward and led to my misunderstanding. Based on how groups in our section break up it looked very much like they didn't move anyone but just left groups as they are.

that messed me up too. And I think I moved. But we’ll see, I guess. I’m a single ticket who sits near the other two people in my group—I’m one row in front and a seat over.

I'm sure many are in your position, but there has to be a concern that many people will stay home and think "hey, this isn't all that bad".

With the layout presented in the email it looks like a group won't have another group directly in front, behind, or on either side of them. Of course they pack those bleachers so tight normally there is no way that will be reality. Groups are going to spread out without people on either side of them. It just happens naturally. If the stadium is full you are practically sitting in each other's laps.

I'd be lyng if the thought of going to the game doesn't make me somewhat uncomfortable after seeing that seating chart, but I am going to give it a shot. If I get there and am uncomfortable with whats going on around me I'll leave.

Endzone club kinda got screwed. Same seat no perks of the extra cost. Am I missing something?

Believe they are cutting the cost of the ticket by $350. So, there is a break....and you can bring in your own food as long as it is in one of those clear purses/murses. Selling water and soda...sounds like they are providing the mixers!

I just double-checked to see if I misread, but nope. Our two seats are greyed out.

I’ve already been looking at ISU tumblers on amazon. Can I buy nippers by the case?

I don't think the "occupied" means anything at this point other than they are seats that "will be occupied" when they make the seating reassignments. I think they have just gone through the stadium and found a way to spread out 25,000 people.

So is sitting in your car and drinking a sixer of Busch Lattes okay. Maybe get on a zoom call if service is good enough?

Looking at the immediate area of our seats I would say that they definitely took into account seat holders who were opting in or out. We have a block of 7 in two rows that aren't exactly in front/behind each other. Our seats are blocked off and the two singles behind/next to us are listed as filled as well as the seats right next to our front row. They definitely intentionally blanked our seats.
