The standard is grape. That is what the daughter eats. The son eats my wife's homemade rhubarb jelly just like I do. It's made with a box of raspberry jello so it really is a raspberry/rhubarb flavor. If there is none of that available I prefer strawberry.

Winner winner, chicken dinner!!

PB goes on one piece.
Then you wipe the knife off on the other piece, so you don't get any in the J jar. Then J goes on the other piece.

I do jelly first and then wipe the jelly off with the bread. Then PB. Much easier to wipe off jelly than PB. I'll usually do a two-second rinse/dry on the knife anyway.

If it's up to my wife, we'll only ever get grape jelly and smooth PB. I like to mix it up with chunky PB or a jar of whatever flavor of preserves looks interesting.

I never thought I'd like PB and sliced banana, but it's grown on me.

I don't eat much peanut butter and jelly as an adult. Growing up we always had homemade jam. Had a strawberry and red raspberry patch in the yard and plenty of wild black raspberries in the area surrounding, froze it in old peanut butter jars. While I will sometimes use store bought jelly it doesn't even begin to compare to homemade, but I don't miss it enough to make the effort to find and pick the fruit and make the jam.

I love raspberry preserves, but I need to get the seedless kind. Otherwise, I end up feeling like I tried planting raspberries in my teeth.

3 slices of bread.

Peanut butter on 2. Potato chips on those. Jelly on 3rd slice. Put jelly slice in between PB slices

I'm shocked by all the PB first responses. I'm jelly first, wipe the knife (jelly comes off easier than PB), and then PB.
You never go J to PB!!!

Grape jelly is the standard PB&J for me. But when I want to get fancy, I get some good blueberry jelly and bakery bread and grill the sandwich.

Also, it has to be Skippy PB. The Skippy Natural has been my go to for a while.

When you make a PB&J sandwhich, do you put peanut butter one 1 piece of bread and jelly on the other, or peanut butter on both and jelly in the middle?

I didn't know this was that complicated. It's almost as easy as making toast.

Im also a preserves guy. Cherry preserves is my top choice for my PB&J.

Cherry preserves are also fantastic. It's hard to find homemade ones that can get rhubarb in there, but they also are fantastic in preserves.

You mean like it does in your stomach?
Don't even get her started. This is a woman who can't stand it if two items on her plate are touching. You're opening up an enormous can of psychological worms, here. @Angie
