This is the 1 thing I am really torn on right now. Given the current situation with the pandemic we probably should not have fans at the game but under normal circumstances this game would probably be a sell out with the Jack packed to the seams. Have a feeling the early week Covid numbers will probably impact the decision. The last few days are likely lower because of less testing due to the holiday so it may not be until later in the week that we see the bigger numbers and the current proclamation by the governor runs until Dec 10th.

That being said if we have fans I probably would attend. My experience in the games I have been able to go to is there is plenty of space to social distance and the fans have done a great job complying to the mitigation protocols. Another thing that could be weird is how many seniors decide to come back next year with the eligibility currently froze which would mean they take 2 walks on senior day.
I have not been outside without a mask since March 16th. However, I felt totally safe at both games I attended (Texas Tech and @ Kansas). Iowa State has been very responsible, and I expect 100% mask / social distancing compliance on Saturday by our great fans! If they let the fans with tickets go on Saturday, I'll be there!

It’s kind of amusing they gave Baylor/OU the 7PM OTA broadcast slot.

Well, at least a 2:30 kick reduces the chance we wear black again.

At this time of the year I don't want a night game. If we get fans in the stands the current high/low for Ames is 46/26 so 2:30 is perfect as that is at the peak of the high temp for the day
When people wear masks (as they will when it’s cold) and social distance properly, I don’t think a game outdoors at Jack Trice is a noticeable COVID risk at all.

People don’t seem to grasp that not all situations carry the same degree of risk.

I agree. I feel more safe attending an ISU game than I do going into some stores right now. I think ISU has done a great job with Covid mitigation protocols compared to what I have seen on TV with other schools.

Yeah, i think the way it was set up the last few games, where there was plenty of distance in the assigned seats and people were mostly wearing masks, it was pretty low risk. I thought ISU actually did a great job compared to what we've seen on TV at other schools. Combine that with students now being done for the year so there's less worry about issues within the student population, and i think you could safely have fans to the degree we've had them this year.

Probably comes down to a PR thing now, with statewide cases being so bad.

I like that Texas plays at 11. Hopefully they show up and take care of things so the ISU game is just icing.

If fans are allowed on Saturday....I'm looking for 2 tickets!
I may be able to help you. But I won’t know until kick time is announced and another variable. If you run into tough luck finding a couple, PM me later in the week.

Local numbers have been trending down about 2 weeks now. Not sure what the decision will be, but it should be to let fans in.

If Iowa State sneaks into the Top 10 tomorrow night, (leaping OU, Indiana and Northwestern) will this be the first game ever a top 10 cyclone team played in Jack Trice Stadium?

Watching some of the other games (particularly in the SEC), I don't know how they don't have massive outbreaks. I've been to two ISU home games this year and the crowd around where I sat was good about their masks and distancing. Those other stadiums on TV...not so much.
