This is oddly very satisfying to watch...

I know we like to blame Prohm and that’s fine, but these group of players are just not good either. They don’t mesh well together. They don’t move the ball around together. They don’t talk out there. They don’t communicate. There is no leadership. This program overall right now is hog ****. It just sucks, simply put.

It doesn't help that they've basically been robbed of a normal preseason routine. I'm not saying that it would change any outcomes, but we have a LOT of new faces with playing time.

Can’t really blame it on that - every single other team in the NCAA has had to go through it.

Once we get Jackson back and the freshman get more time we might be able to complete with teams this year.

Tre Jackson is nothing but another body. 6”1 guard who can’t create off the dribble isn’t changing this squad. Foster and Bolton are the only two players on our team who would even be in the rotation for playing time on the Top 7 teams in the Big 12.

The play of the game is when Dubar went over the back of his own teammate (JCL) for a rebound in the first half. There was not a KSU player within 8 feet of either of them. The ball went out of bounds, and of course KSU scored a layup. After the play, there was zero communication from either of them, nor the coach. I literally laughed out loud! You can't make this stuff up!!

Tre made one 3 pointer a game last year and people seem to believe he is a sniper. You’ve been around this program long enough to know better. Call the state of the program like it is.

They should have a Cyclone fanatic coaching contest. Whomever wins the contest gets to coach the next game. I mean we can’t be any worse than what’s going on
You mean the loser has to coach the team.

I don't tend to mingle in things I know very little about. I love ISU basketball but it's not my expertise. I agree its a dumpster fire to my pedestrian eye. There are flashes of talent but the chemistry is just so bad.

Reasons for optimism with this team (which I'll delete if we lose tonight):
  1. We're down a starter, who happens to be our best 3 point sniper. Get healthy, Tre.
  2. Foster looks like he's ready to contribute. Even with freshman mistakes, his energy level in the last game was impressive. Keep it up!
  3. Tyler's defense in the first half against the Squawkeyes was also noteworthy and super fun to watch.
  4. Solomon is so solid inside, and if the team will remember to throw the rock in there (dare I say, Like Connor McCaffery does), Solomon will put the ball in the hoop.
  5. Javan and Jalen are solid big 12 players, and they each bring something different to the floor. Not all-conference, but solid.
  6. Finally, our best player is a 2-guard learning to play the point. And the assist-to-turnover numbers are great so far. It's working. (Now if he can play a little more defense...)

There’s not going to be any chemistry when there are only two guys that play meaningful minutes that have even spent a single season together. That’s not what’s concerning to me that is to be expected. The terrible shooting, the weird offense that we’re running and the same strange overreacting defense is what is concerning to me.

There is no hope. There is no silver lining. We are in the early stages of our Lickliter era.

Just tell Prohm to stay away and cash his ridiculous checks.
I laughed at U of I because John Lickliter was playing... not funny now.
Yep and you could tell they were already playing better together, and it obviously was reflected in the outcome. It's on Prohm to try to figure something out for our group.
If it's on Prohm to figure it out, we are in deep, deep trouble.!!!!!

Can they just fire Prohm now? Might as well just let the players coach themselves. Probably have the same result

I remember being stoked about what Solo and Conditt would become. Seems like both regressed since their freshman years. Hope Foster doesn't meet the same fate
Both were made to look better because the talent around them was much better. What you are seeing now is what happens when the talent level around them falls.
