Man....an average game would have won this.

The int in the endzone killed....as did the score before half.

Darn it all.....we got some "Baylor Brock" and the last play....man....

And I feel bad for Chase Allen...it was there
Yea the score before half was such a gut punch. So damn proud of this team for always fighting back though. They are GRITTY.

Real story of the game is our o line getting absolutely massacred and special teams shitting the bed as usual.

Kept playing until the end though.

About 5 things cost us the game today:

1. STs. A complete **** show as usual.
2. LOS play. We were outplayed on both sides of the ball by a considerable margin. On the offensive side we were flat out embarrassing.
3. Brutal interceptions by the QB. The end zone throw was an okay decision, but the wrong type of throw. The one on the sideline was a terrible throw and decision and the last was beyond words. Purdy needs to improve his decision making...throwing the right kind of ball for a throw, knowing when to throw the ******* ball away (he STILL runs OB behind the line of scrimmage as a 3 year starting QB...that's a problem), know when to take off and run...his processing needs to improve.
4. Rushing 3 guys. McDonald is a pure edge rusher who will often compromise outside integrity to get around the outside and the other 2 guys never got a whiff of Rattler in the 3 man scheme. Once we consistently brought more pressure we got better results, as had been the case well...basically since forever...when we play teams who have a pulse at the LOS. Abandon the 3 man rush. It has not, does not, and will not work against the likes of an Oklahoma. When we did it Rattler had ALL DAY to throw the ball.
5. Coaching. First down play calling was a joke. We didn't even try the TEs over the middle to soften up the LBs for Breece. Getting in plays from the sideline remains a constant ******* problem. CMC and the rest of the staff were not prepared and were too slow to adjust.

The back 7 and Xavier Hutchinson were LIGHTs out. With all the time Rattler had to throw he could have had 400 yards. We also showed a lot of heart out there today. Nobody quit. Tough way to lose a game.

Lol, moral victories are for losers. That was some of most inept time management ive ever, then we have lineman who csnt stay set. Its absolutely hilarious that some of you think Purdy just threw up a hail Mary there. It was a busted play because that idiot up in the booth couldn't get a play called in on game.

Just so typical Iowa State.

Typical Iowa State isn't even playing in this game. History dictates that. And typical Iowa State doesn't make this a game after the terrible first half. This is definitely NOT typical Iowa State. The sooner we get rid of that mindset (myself included) the better off we will be.

Next season this team needs to learn to come out and take control Too many times this year and last year we have fallen behind and have to play catch up. This bit us today. Hard to come back against a good team like today, even though we had a good chance to do it.

If we are going to get better, some things must be recognized.
1. Our OLine sucks. Always has, always will.
2. Brock will have a good CFL career.
3. Brock doesn't have any arm strength. He can't throw the out pattern. Who would draft him ?
4. Brock will be back next year. He needs to stop reading the Russell Wilson comparisons.
5. A jump ball, crossing pattern offense will fail against really good teams.
6. The defense can't cover the deep ball.
7. Thank goodness we play in the Big 12.

I've never said we wouldn't be where we're at without Purdy. But he was consistently bad today, and that along with horrible special teams cost us our only Big 12 Championship ever.... period. Those are the facts.

Horrible special teams and 3 INT's lost us the game. Pretty simple. Brock is a great QB.... but just HAS to learn you can't always make a play when there's absolutely nothing there. He did that multiple times today.

I agree in a vacuum, but Hall couldn't get much going and Purdy spent most of the day running for his life. I'm not happy and yes, he should have thrown a couple more away,, but it's awful easy to sit on the couch and yell how much somebody sucks. I refuse to do it to Brock Purdy.

Brock gets us to a certain point but you have to start wondering if his arm strength and decision making limitations set a ceiling for us. I’m wondering the same about Tom Manning and how our offense plays in big games.
God no. Purdy is fantastic. He had a rough game, but also made some amazing plays to get us back in it. The INTs were just awful and ultimately killed us. But so did MANY other things. That 1st Half was so bad across the board.

You could tell we were a little star struck in the first half. Not to mention the refs decided to control the game in the first half. Yet again this team proved everyone wrong and clawed back into it. Several times this year we clawed back in it and won, just not this time. Love this team and they aren’t done yet. Still a great shot at a NY6 bowl.

It kind of was, though - he has to know to throw that ball away, not chuck it up for grabs. It was only 3rd down and we would have been going for it on 4th.

I will repeat but reverting back to a lame plan for him brought him back to bad habits.

He started thinking again.

Bottom line: you can’t slack off for 40 minutes then expect to just magically come back and win. Iowa State dug themselves a massive hole by being too complacent, then couldn’t pull off the comeback. We have nobody to blame but our team for having zero urgency until it was late.

Not sure what has the higher chance of happening...the defender dropping it or us converting on a 4th and 20 when we haven't given our QB time to get those types of plays off ALL DAY LONG.

I think the odds are better to hope for a drop and convert on 4th and 10.

It would have been a replay of 3rd down in that scenario. However, good point.
