I saw Sean Foster is coming back. Had a solid first senior season, hopefully he will continue to grow and develop. I love seeing that guys are wanting to come back. Can't wait for September to get here!

I’m curious if other schools are seeing seniors come back? For example, Iowa?

Iowa got their 1st round All American Center back. Lost a few guys. But the Center coming back is huge for them.

Lee, J.R. Singleton and Tucker Robertson are going to be big in the middle. They’ll likely have help from Zach Petersen in four man front, and Howard Brown is enrolling early.

Outside, Will McDonald and Petersen are going to be nasty—the latter just needs to work on his pass rush skills. And Blake Peterson and Corey Suttle are hungry and ready to step up.

And I didn’t mention Johnny Wilson, because I’m not sure yet where he’ll fit. Check back when Spring ball stars. And don’t forget Tyler Onyedim.

So I’m curious. How does anyone think we need more DL help? Pretty sure PT is the whole reason Bankston left.

I don't think it's out of the question to think that our interior DL could take a step back. I like the guys we have, and I like the guys we have coming in. However, Brown has never played a down of college football, I don't remember seeing Singleton this year, and Robertson was our 4th or 5th option, behind Lee, Enyi, Bailey, and Bankston.

Doesn't mean they're going to be bad. But it's certainly a question mark.

I agree on DE, though. I am not worried about them at all.

I completely agree with this. There's depth in numbers here, but there's depth pretty much everywhere else as well. As far as quality depth, safety and interior d-line seems to me to be the biggest "concern". Corner might be next, but I think they're better than a lot of people give them credit. Young gets picked on, but that's only because Johnson and Kyle are that good.

I think as far as transfers go, it would be interior d-line, safety, and 1 more kicker in that order. Then pretty much whoever else you can find that could compete day 1 for a starter/backup position.

So far it looks like VanValkunberg who was second team all Big Ten DE and Linderbaum the center are coming back. Appears not all seniors have made a decision from what I can find.

Here in Cornshuckerville so far, two of their senior defenders are coming back for another year. So I think pretty much every school will see a few seniors return for an extra year. Probably balances out pretty much, may actually help create a little more parity, since it is less likely, I would think, that the blue bloods would be getting their 5-star seniors returning for another year of college football.

The questions I see yet for “coming back” are Jake Hummel and Josh Bailey, plus Eisworth or White.

And Charlie Kolar, of course—but with Chase Allen back and the depth Matt Campbell has created over the last five years, none of these guys are make or break.

Nebraska is all excited to get back to the elusive 5 win level.

This is something I just don't understand. If you're a projected first round draft pick, why would you come back? Go and get paid instead of risking an injury or something. I wouldn't think anybody would fault him for it.

No word on White/Eisworth? Any hints from them postgame?

I think Eisworth is ready to go but I could see White staying.

Because he’s only a sophomore, and that “projected” isn’t “guaranteed”. He’s going for “guaranteed” or “top ten picks”.

And maybe he just happens to like college football.

Look like Lawrence White signs with an agent.

I still like our safety room!

Bit of a bummer for us fans, but great news for him. I always enjoy listening to him in interviews.

Any other seniors that come back is just icing on the cake at this point IMO. We already had some good depth at most positions we would be fine if none of them came back but Foster and Allen definitely improved things and the skill position players not leaving early other than possibly Kolar was probably assumed. Would love to have Kene back another season but we still have depth at RB regardless and someone will step up for the return role if he doesn't.

Based on what we have seen so far I think it is a clear indication the players know more than the media does about where Campbell is going to be coaching next season. If anyone has been paying attention to what Campbell has said in interviews over the years he loves the challenge of building something and he's always been about building character and team culture and I don't see how everything he has been about since he was a player and now a coach that he would get the enjoyment out of a NFL job where you are paid to manage overpaid egos and not develop young men like he gets to do in college. Hate to use this comparison but remember back in the days when Kirk Ferentz was rumored to be leaving Iowa for the NFL or a bigger job and he never did and it is apparent now he always preferred the college ranks over the pros. Some of us have used Bill Snyder to compare Campbell to at times with the situation he came into being similar but I also can see a bit of Ferentz with it too with wanting to stay the course and keep building a program and doing what you love instead of taking the bigger paycheck and spotlight where you may not have as good of job security nor the satisfaction you get from your current job.

Wish him luck. Would love to see TJ Tampa emerge in that roll. His upside is through the roof.
I think that T.J. could make a great FS, but they seem intent on grooming him for corner. Matt Caponi and D.K. McDonald would probably have a fistfight.

Guess we’ll see come Spring.
