Nope. The McDermott era wasn’t this bad.

Yeah, i remember that era. People were still relatively engaged, if getting apathetic. People were still fighting about whether to fire him or not. Pollard was defending mcdermott with that statement talking down on transfers getting out of hand (which provided some humor when we then became transfer U).

Now there's almost nothing. Barely any talk on the board about the game. Everyone knows Prohm's essentially done here, its just a matter of when he gets a new contract somewhere else or we pony up the money to fire him.

Going to just post this and if people use it that's great or if someone else feels like doing the daily game threads going forward and not use this that's fine too.

I know many of here know of my recent hell with covid19 but for those that missed out I was hospitalized due to covid for 5 days Jan. 13-18. It's been hell. So this thread will be the last basketball one I do this year.
Thanks Rulzzz! Get well, take care of yourself!

There is a lot to be mad about but the play and losses in Hilton really irk me. The home court advantage is now gone.

If we don't win a game in Hilton this year, Prohm will have a home record of 60-31 overall and that includes a 26-5 record his first two years with many Hoiberg players.

The last two years are really bad. Really bad. Currently 2-5 this year in Hilton staring down 2-9 overall. If we end up 2-9 the last two years in Hilton we will have a home record of 11-16...2-9 this year and 9-7 last year. Yowza.

And the margin of losses in Hilton might be what bugs me the most. Even with our pretty shittastic teams the past 20 years, there haven't been many games we get blown out of our own building. Very few.

Under Prohm we have 11 home losses of 10+ points...7 of those the last two years. And I didn't count but I have to think 5+ have to be 20+ and a couple of 30 point losses too.

It was. And that's something I thought I'd never ever say.

yeah, a lot better...people forget you still had brackins and Disney Garrett to watch then, lot of those games were competitive at least

That’s really unfair. His worst team was leagues ahead of three of the last four Prohm teams. This is so much worse.

Wayne Morgan was a joke, an absolute pathetic excuse for a coach. Let’s not pretend Wayne had any idea what was going on. With that said, I would give my left nut to have Wayne right now.

The last year of the McDermott era was bad for me. Not like this but bad. CIMD kicked me out of the cave at one point because I was too negative lol.

Saw a few flickers of hope tonight, but can anyone provide more glimmers of positive direction for the remainder of this year and on into the future?

Well a 20+pt loss, but I thought the youngsters hustled most of the game, a few WTF shots, but livable, turnovers were bad and got beat up on the interior, but really why not let them play they are young hopefully they'll learn from their mistakes.

It’s easy to harp on the team for the loss, but what did we expect people? For the majority of the game it was fairly close, the team just got worn out it seemed. I mean when your one big man doesn’t play because of foul trouble, we’re gonna get out rebounded by a lot. Defense was both good and really bad. Good because we forced a ton of turnovers and bad because we couldn’t contest anything at close range. We only turned the ball over 12 times and 3 of those were from Jenkins, so that was encouraging. It was encouraging to see all three freshmen hit a three. Dubai looked frustrated that his shots weren’t falling, Blackwell looked like the game was going too fast still, and Walker seemed like he was a little bothered by his knee as I saw him rubbing when he was out. Walker has some good versatility to him and I think he is almost ready to be a solid contributor while the other two it seems to be more mental or experience. Also Bolton has a nice game so that was fun to see.
End of the day I wasn’t expecting much and I didn’t get much

It was unfortunate his 2nd foul early in 1H was a bogus, dumb call, but he had a chance to step up and give production. I've given up thinking we'll get it some game.
Every once in a while Solo steps on it, but for the most part our interior play has always been weak on rebounding; especially offensive ribbies.

Well.....I just saw where our awesome scheduling reality has us playing KU Jayhawker addidas redlegs in February twice in 3 days. What an opportunity for two huge wins that they will make movies about! Legends and Leaders both in three historic days.

Really disappointed with Conditt tonight. This was his time to step up and earn some more minutes and instead he has been a foul machine and had his ass plastered to the bench for a lot of the game. Randy Pete was on the radio last week talking how he thinks Conditt still has NBA potential but he has to get his head in the game better than what we have seen last year and this year if he will ever reach that potential.
oh Randy. Just because Conditt is tall doesn’t mean he has NBA potential.

I will say this I love watching Bolton play. I know he turns it over too much but his little floaters are silky and I think on the right team he could be outstanding. He's being forced to do everything on this team and it's too much for one guy.

What is interesting to me is the cliff dive regression from Conditt! Dude looked like he was going to be a stud early on last year and now it is like he doesn’t know how to play at all.
