More like a month. March 11 at the latest, possibly earlier if there's no big 12 tournament.

There's no real benefit to firing him with a month left. Just run out the season and pull the trigger the next morning.

And it’s not like JP can’t be looking around. But no one will talk to him until March.

Because it looks ******* bad to future coaching candidates.

Ok, then don't be ******* terrible and the worst coach in the history of the program. Think even the softest of coaches can understand that.

Also, a good coach isn't to worried about how he is going to get fired.

Kind of shocking to see how many don't agree with this but whatever.

What would you think if you interviewed for a job and found out the management had kept your predecessor around to make the mess you’re being hired to clean up worse than it had to be? I’d see that as a negative. I’d rather see a commitment to success.
How can he make it worse?

What?

I’m not saying he shouldn’t get fired. I’m saying there’s no point in firing him now. It’s not going to help us get a coach. In fact it would turn off coaches. I suppose TJ wouldn’t care though.

Why not? Hell you could probably do what he has done.

I am not saying it was the right thing to do. I also don't think it should or will happen....but coaches do get fired during the season and Pollard has done it.

So you think if CSP got fired now and coached the rest of the season it's similar to when CPR got a swan song?

I'm not in the give him another year camp, but the only reason i could even kind of understand would be 'save money on the buyout'

I guess. I’m in the camp of create as toxic an environment as possible and drive that ****** out of Ames.

No coach is going to agree with firing anyone in the middle of the season.

Nothing is gained by firing him now. You make the kids playing for him feel bad. You don’t do anything to help get a new coach. It makes no sense.

The only point I was trying to make is that Pollard has fired a coach during the season. Yes, I am well aware of the difference between 1 game and a month of the season.

It will cost the AD around $1.25 million extra to fire Prohm this year compared to next. We all know this ship isn’t turning around and there is NO WAY Prohm should be given the opportunity to finish 9th or 10th in the league again for the 4th out of 5 years. Fan apathy will cost more than that next year.

It has to happen after this year. But in-season isn’t a good look and doesn’t matter. We’ll be looking for a new coach in March.

The mess isn't going to be worse 4 weeks from now.
