You have faith in Prohm turning things around when he’s only shown the ability to take us from the top of the Big 12 to the basement?

Honest question: what has he done to show you he’s capable of that?

Do I have "faith" no, but I'll answer why I think it's possible..............because he did it before 17/18 to 18-19 and he has won here.

Now honest question: what's the difference between Steve winning 15 games next year or any other coach winning 15 games?

This actually doesn't surprise me at all.
That Steve would take a student (at the time) out to lunch? I agree, he's a great guy. But it's a business and if you aren't doing the job you are paid to do, you're not going to last long at that place of business.

17-18 was a clear and obvious "rebuilding" year with guys who played hard and were able to pick up big time wins. This is not a rebuilding year, and neither was last season. Stick a fork in them.

An identity and players looking and playing like they know what they can and want to do.

Making the opponent have to respond instead of trying to matchup with the opponent.

Being fundamentally strong would be a plus.

You really need someone to answer that question for you, you can’t reason it out on your own? Ask yourself this - what would the difference have been between Hoiberg and GMac finishing near the bottom of the Big 12 with Fred’s first team?

Because I don’t think he can win 15 games here next year. I means, jeez, he’s going to win 2-4 games ALL YEAR this year. And it’s pretty damn clear he’s not the coach to get us back to where we were. So we’ll likely be firing him anyway next year. For $1.4 million extra, we can do that know and start looking for someone who can instead of wait until after next year where apathy will be even worse and the rebuild will be even more difficult.

Also, his 2018-19 team looks to be one of the all time underachieving teams here.

Ticket sales. Hilton might have only 10000 per home game. 4000empty seats at a modest $30 and 15 home games is missing $1.8 million. Then add in missing concessions. Plus Hilton would overrun by hawk and jawhawk fans. Not good:(

Why would you possibly believe the program is dead for the next few years? Do you even follow college basketball? A good coach can rebuild a program quickly. It just happened at ISU, only a decade ago.

Whoever the coach is next year, his top priority has to be holding into Hunter and Foster. That freshman PG and big man duo is a great foundation for the program to be rebuilt around.

Repeating but what LW and Lard had going at times in 17-18 looked to be a lot of this. But whatever that was got lost and just hasn't recovered.

That's an interesting take, because unless I am mistaken at the start of the 18-19 season Babb and Wigginton were the only returning players to start considering Talley and Lard......well. And then Wiggs was injured. So that leaves Babb as the only contributor from that "rebuilding" year. Mike, Tyrese, THT and Shayok were all newbies. That's means 18-19 had very little to do with 17-18. So it's up to you, you can put that free lunch fork in them and JP may just do it. But if Steve is still there next year....I will be also.

Answering a question with a question.......that's you. But I'll answer yours...............nothing. But of course hindsight is always 20/20, right? And I'll answer my own question....................nothing.

I can agree with this. And the main thing JP has to juggle.

Yep. But a good coach has a nice start for building his team with those two. And plenty of available spots. A good situation to step into.

Enjoy mediocrity and sitting in a very empty arena while enjoying stale basketball then.

Hey @jcisuclones,

Check out post #58 here if you don't believe me.

There are only 1 or 2 people that said something personal out of the hundreds who have participated in these threads, that’s it. 99% of this board would agree he is a quality human being off the court- quit acting like it’s anything different.

If ISU wins two or less conference games, there is just no way the university can bring Prohm back and sell it too the fan base. Covid or not, he has to be shown the door if that is the case.

Has any coach in his 6th season ever survived a year like ISU BB is having and stayed around to coach the next year?

Show the man the door, if we wait another year, we will be worse off than we are now.

It means the difference between delaying the inevitable and rebooting the program to give it a chance in 22-23 and 23-24. Honestly, I had high hopes for Walker and Dubar but they are more than a year away from being Big 12 starters.
