well, let’s hope for all your sakes, it doesn’t happen again.
Poor Steve. He never had a chance. No fan support when he was hired. No good players. Just lemons and now they are firing a guy that won just over 53% of his games. I’m not sure why Iowa State should have had higher expectations.

and you really just said you want them to lose every game the rest of the way.
Where did I say that? The problem you have is that you constantly said Prohm would be more successful than the prior regime. You were wrong in a massive way. Then you got suspended for a year. And now you are back trying to deflect.

there’s a whole thread on how they’re not very good. If that’s the case, I’d think you would want them to move on.

You are completely clueless when it comes to coaching changes and rebuilding. The new coach isn’t going to come in, cut every player, and just sign a whole new team and we are suddenly good again. Yes some players will leave, but you’re just acting like an idiot.

Perhaps a coach that actually make in-game adjustments. Perhaps a coach that will put them in position to succeed in end game situations. Run some semblance of an offensive set that doesn’t have the point guard pounding the ball to death at the top of the key.

See now you’re being all hate prohm again, of course you’ve also said you want to protect Fred’s legacy as well

These kids came to Ames Iowa from the south to play for this staff. They all had other options, and with Covid they will be able to go somewhere else and play right away.

with covid, they haven’t even had a chance to get to know Ames, to see if it’s a place they could fall in love with. Add in all the class and grace Iowa State fans are showing them and their coaches on social media, and tell me exactly why they would stay, if the next coach isn’t a sure thing for them?

Nobody is talking themselves back into prohm.

I don’t think it’s a bad thing for these players to experience some success though.

You know that is total crap. I hope this team gets a few wins. They were profitable for me on Tuesday at +11.5. But I’m also acutely aware that if they finish the season 5-13 in the conference that you will be back hear saying we need to give him another year. Don’t be disingenuous.

Were you wrong in a massive way on Prohm?

Cat just has a narrative that if you criticize the coach and the direction of the program, it means you hate everything about the program and school and hope it’s an epic failure and that he is the superior fan.

However, you are also convinced that all these kids are going to transfer so other than a few wins for the program in February it will do nothing for the future of the program.

I’ll quote this again, the future of the program happens after the season.

So why wouldn’t you want the team you root for to have success in the remaining games?

Were you massively wrong about Steve Prohm and his ability to succeed at this program?

Hey rochclone, you know what? Keep me out of this ridiculous p!ssing match that you have going on with Cat at the moment. And what's more why don't you do a search of my posts within the last couple of weeks and find a single one where I suggest that I'm in favor of keeping Prohm around if we go on a "hot" streak? Or, better yet, how about YOU stop being disingenuous?

so what you’re saying is everyone should ignore the elephant in the room and pretend this is a team that can make the NCAA tournament, and wait until the season is over to bring out the pitchforks?

You are correct. I shouldn’t have brought others into it. I apologize.

This board was a very peaceful place when he got placed in timeout.

No you all get to group think with no push back.

you know, not every single moment in the basketball program in the last 6 years was all bad. But you all have yourselves so wound up with anti coach nonsense, you (metaphorical) can’t even bring yourselves to give credit for good wins and efforts. This is how you know it’s been personal. Because you cant say man I hope Iowa State wins, and therefore Steve prohm wins, because then you’re a prohm lover.

It’s also stuff people in program read.

kids will move on when the change is made. They will make those decisions with their families after the season. It’s the nature of the business.
