I just can’t understand why Illinois didn’t change anything up. They didn’t play with urgency.
Ok I love the Big Ten continuing to crap the bed, but we all know there’s only one team in that conference that really matters as far as losing goes. Ducks need to end this Iowa season so we can all enjoy the rest of the tournament.
Just hate to see teams from an athletically and morally superior conference getting kicked to the curb like this. Sad.
Illinois has talent and is a good team, but they could be so much better if they played with fire and focus. They've gotten by a lot this year by doing just enough and they tried that through to the last minute today. I actually root for them but am not surprised with how they look today. That combination of unfocused, unemotional game is what Loyola feeds off of.

Scary thing is they have a very real shot at at least the Elite Eight. Neither of their potential Sweet 16 opponents will scare them. That defense is so nasty.
