Where they love the governor
Do new build subdivisions down there have neighborhood shelters built in to them? I noticed in the coverage that Eagle Point got hit and they had a community pool and clubhouse.

My neighborhood is still being built out. Shelters are not being put in as far as I know.

We have several pools and clubhouses, but no certified tornado shelter.

If we would have been home for this, I think I would have taken us to the hotel half a mile away to shelter.

We were in the polygon, but the one that hit Spann was south of us (think he loves in Greystone, which is where Jordan stayed when he played baseball).

Thanks for the info. It just fascinates me that Spann is on TV telling people to go to a gas station or McDonalds. Just seems crazy for an area that has a high loss of life every year from January-May due to tornadoes.

It is also a very conservative area so spending money on public things is not a high priority.

There are a lot of people who live in trailers down here. And they're not all poor - they choose to spend their money in other ways.

And it amazes me, who grew up in Iowa, that people don't know to get to a sturdy building in these kinds of storms. Or know what county you live in. Or what county is next to you.
