I will admit, I had no idea TJ Otz would be this big of a SAVAGE on the recruiting trail. High impact transfers, high school talent, he's checked every single box thus far.

Exciting times ahead. Can you imagine Lipsey, King, and Hunter as our guards? That is a back court a blue blood school would like to have. Especially if Lipsey's knee returns to 100% and betting it does.

Lipseys knee is better than before the injury. Did you see his football highlights? And a basketball season plus state tournament no problem. Now he's doing track and field.
New Hilton magic on the way!!!

My surgeon informed me a year ago that it depends on the type and the pattern of the tear. There are at least three different scenarios...that I remember him telling me.

Snipping off a protruding bit or flap is one of them. I remember that because mine was trying to fit that pattern. It still might.
I had a meniscus repair years ago, had to spend 8 weeks in an immobilizer. Brutal. I hope things have changed.

Anyone knows if TJ is going hard after any other ‘22 MN class guys?
In general it will be really interesting to see how the staff approaches the rest of the 22 class. With early pledges from Lipsey and King it seems like we’re in a position to be picky and swing for the fences a bit, which sounds fun

Niang’s mentee Alex Karaban would be perfect

Gopher hole is fun right now. I really think it’s just a matter of time before TJ gets us our first McDonald’s all American since Fizer.

I used to have GopherHole as a favorite on my site list back in the day. Might have to do that again here soon.

One poster seems to understand what seems to be happening. Brought up King immediately in their Lipsey thread. Was basically called a crazy person the entire time.

3 threads on the first page with “...commits to Iowa State.” Love it.

Looks like more of a rim attacker defender from his highlights. Plays really really fast, and looks to get others involved offensively.

What I got from his highlight tape was:
Slasher w/a good handle who likes contact and can also hit the open three. Can’t always tell much from hit tapes against high school comp, but the pace of the game just seems to pick up when the ball is in hands and the ball is either going to the rim
or an open teammate

You might be right about his knee, but according to this clip,
Caledonia's Eli King Commits to Play Basketball at Iowa State (kttc.com)
the very last part shows him with crutches and a R knee brace in Jan 2021. So maybe he had the knee surgery in Jan 2021 or thereabouts? Says in the clip he's hoping to be back for BB the last month of this summers AAU and plans to play FB this fall.

The clip also says he missed this past HS season (his Jr. year?) due to the (knee?) injury. So I guess the clips we are seeing of him are from when he was a sophomore. I don't know for sure?

Regardless I'm sure he'll recover fine, just some unknowns still.

Edit: Sorry FallOf81, I just realized your quote was talking about Lipsey's knee! That's really good to know that his knee is healthy now!

I thought you were referring to King's knee, thus my post. My bad. Hopefully King's knee will be in good shape soon. I'm sure he's walking around and stuff, not sure if he would be running just jet. I guess it depends on how bad the injury and how extensive the surgery.
