That wouldn’t be a Power 5 conference long term. It would be a glorified American conference eventually.

It would be a bit better than the American simply because all 8 leftovers have been getting P5 money and have experience as P5 schools. But it would be significantly weakened over what we have now. Likely 4th-5th best in FB and would dip a bit in BB.

If it happens somehow jumping to the pac12 with whosever left is the best case scenario. The big10 is never happening. As freakin awful as that would be, I don’t see a better outcome.

P16 could be fun. But we don’t fit at all geographically or culturally. Would take it over a remade B12 though.

Well what if this is a forerunner to the sometime discussed restructuring where the the top 60 or so schools bolt from the NCAA to form a new 6 pod 10 teams/pod super conference total separate from the NCAA?

I would think there would be room in that scenario for ISU.
This is what will happen or nothing will happen. People are panicking over imaginary scenarios that logistically don’t work.

Probably not the most liked opinion here. Go ahead and leave OU, UT good ******* luck you will not accomplish anything better than the big 12. Think of it as Nebraska leaving for big 10 when they had no recruiting ties to that geographical area. If this implodes which someday will probably happen I hope we go to big 10. We fit the mold and traveling would be better for fans and students. Oh and you will continue to lose to us for the foreseeable future suck it up buttercups.

Let's say this actually happens, which I give it about a 5% chance. If the remaining 8 stay together or add 2 more schools like Houston or BYU, why would that kill recruiting? It's still a Power 5 conference, one which Iowa State could dominate if Campbell stays. I'm honestly wondering why everyone thinks recruiting would fall of a cliff.

Recruits considering the other 8 Big 12 schools put that much stock in getting to play Texas and Oklahoma every year? I could see the allure of playing Oklahoma in football but that's about it.
Because our most prestigious conference foe would be West Virginia or Oklahoma State. You don’t see how that would be a harder sell to come play in that conference?

Gonzaga gets some of the best recruits playing games against Santa Clara and Pepperdine. If you build your program up to be good you will get recruits. Granted this would be harder for football than basketball.

Texas an OU moving to the SEC isn’t going to hurt their recruiting. If anything it might help.

After you suggesting us to the SEC, I'm not confirming anything you said
Holy crap. I was making a joke that played off your joke about the SEC not accepting a team from a union state. You made a joke, I made a related joke, everyyard got it, but somehow it devolved into what I’m not sure. Would be better at this point if you just enjoyed the jokes and put the keyboard down.

I don't get KU to the Big 10. They're basically just a better version of UConn; awful football, great basketball.

Your last sentence is exactly why it would be a major issue.

Possible to do in basketball because of the immense OOC schedule. It simply isn’t realistic in football. We need to get into the PAC-12 and end this ******** once and for all.

Yes, it was all meant in fun.
