Would much prefer the B1G option. I really, really, really do not want to get caught up with the Pac 12 if we can help it. Loooooong road trips, odd rivalries, worst per school TV revenue in the P5. Seems like a marriage of convenience, aren't we leaving that in the Big 12?

I think that's obvious. But pac 12 also has more reason to expand at all given its existing issues.

What stinks more is if we move to a new conference we'll probably have to wait 3-5 years before we get a full 100% share of the pot.

Like I've already mentioned.... if this goes through and ISU ends up in the MAC or MWC.... I will hope and pray that all of college football suffers a quick death.

I barely ever watch SEC football now, but will never watch it if this happens, and I think a LOT of people will follow suit.... hopefully anyway. Are they arrogant enough to believe that if they basically end college football as we know it that the whole country will just sit back and watch them all play football? I won't. I will no longer care at all.

Still a bit surprised we haven't heard a peep from Texas or Oklahoma legislatures over this. Gotta imagine it'll come up during the next election. OSU and Tech fans vote too.

...yeah, if this ends up with us in a G5 type conference, I think I might be done with football altogether.

We faced off against Alabama in a bowl game not that long ago. The rest of the conference is fluctuating levels of good to decent. I'm just not that impressed. Sure they get talent headed to the league, let em do their gator chomp and wear their Sunday best to their pagan pigskin pageantry, but I'm with you, peace out.

Yep, and some late ass game times, especially for basketball I would guess.

I know they fly private but would feel bad for the athletes for all that travel they would have to do. Lot of sports that could be some early morning arrivals from road trips.

College rivalries are going away with all this realignment. The rich are going to get richer, the poor are going to get poorer.

I enjoyed the Big 8, accepted the Big 12, and I think I may be done with college athletics when the music stops with this latest round of musical chairs….

They gone. They aren't even interested in getting together to discuss if anything at all can be done to solve this.

That is because if this is all true, it was put into motion long before today in anticipation of the NIL ruling. And both schools knowing full well of the backlash are prepared to pay whatever fine/penalty that might be levied. I may be wrong.......but then again why aren't either on the call?
