Why is it only UT and OU have this take? They think they are OWED something, that they CARRIED everyone, they DESERVE MORE.

They dont understand how a team works, they dont understand NO other conference works that way. They cant realize how Alabama doesnt think this vs the Arkansas and Vandy schools and OSU does not vs the Illinois and Indiana schools. So why do they have this in their heads and why when you try to call them out on their arrogance they just get worse.

I just dont get how anyone can have that take. How you can go through the way the Big 12 bent backwards for them forever and they still act like they deserve more. Its such overblown egos that its insane.

I hope they struggle in the SEC, battling with Mississippi State or Arkansas for one of the last available bowl games every year.

View attachment 87503 OK - now that people are depressed after reading JP and WWs body language and were somehow thinking they weren't going to say exactly what was needed to keep us out of GoR trouble, here's a positive manifesto on why ISU is in better shape than the typical fan and Twittiot realize.

In 2019 ISU was 21st in the country in attendance. That's despite being not exactly a vacation destination to make a long weekend, but also being one of two geographical outliers in the conference. So, there's no visiting team attendance padding (looking at you, Northwestern). In addition, ISU was certainly capacity constrained.

Also, as far as TV ratings go, I think comparing across conferences is tricky, since time slot, opponent, channel all play a role. Plus, viewership gets boosted by eyes from other teams within a conference, so being in a bigger conference with better overall TV viewership helps. Nevertheless, I pulled a few random TV ratings numbers from last year to do a quick comparison from here: https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/college-football-tv-ratings/

Now, there seem to be a couple games missing, and for the reasons above you don't want to bet the farm on ratings, but here are a few schools I picked as comparisons to ISU. I also showed what happened if you subtract out conf. champ. games, bowls, and even big time opponents (or Iowa-Neb. since that was something of an outlier for each).

So by the two metrics that matter for ad revenue in the future, ISU stacks up far better than people think. Now, does ISU represent some sort of windfall for a conference picking them up? No. But a team like ISU that has demonstrated a fanbase that will watch games, seek out and pay for content that is likely to take conditions favorable to a conference that adds them can certainly make sense.

Here's the thing about all of these comparison schools - if the tables were turned, and we were in the Big 10 and they were in the Big 12, they'd be crapping their pants as well. The only reason they aren't, is that they already have a place at the table.

Why is Texas the way Texas is? Why do they think they deserve more? This poster has clearly never met somebody from the state of Texas. :jimlad:

The problem has to be the culture inside the locker rooms and maybe it trickles down from being all that in high school. Give me Mike Rose, every day of the damn week.

I have a friend who had an 'in' with the coaching there and as soon as the LHN really took off, the pampered-ness really came into effect.

Might just be coincidence but look at what they were prior to the LHN (2011) and results vs. talent are pretty clear.

You have to wonder how interested the SEC would have been in 2009 when UT was having those types of seasons vs. the dysfunction of now when they can get clowned.

I honestly think that it also explains more than we'll ever know about how basically no amount of money could get Saban there.

Bob Stoops: "I would like every Oklahoma State fan in the service industry to spit in my food until the end of time."
You don't think that already happens? There's going to be some real ugly scenes in the tailgate lots and stands during bedlam. Those people hate each other under normal circumstances.
