Another huge reason this is a success is Costner being apart of it. Because if the star of the movie isn't a part of this I could see many people being why should we care.

Testifying
Hearing Lil Jon being played at the Field of Dreams is hilarious.

What's that line where Costner and Robbins were talking about a wedding gift? LOL

the manager comes out Costner gives him the low down on what they were talking about and the manager says candlesticks make a great wedding gift. I had to google search it. It's in a group of 37 best quotes in Bull Durham. There were a lot of great lines in that movie.

Helps that he's got a good voice for romanticized narration.

Cornfield homers!

One note: in some of the pregame stuff, they showed some of the players eating corn to make it look like they had gotten it out of the field....like you can just go up to any corn field and start eating it.

I'd actually like to know how many people don't know that that's not how it works.

You can actually eat it. It's not great. But it's edible. Wouldn't recommend it.

Durham Bulls games are a hell of a lot of fun too

My favorite quote - "Relax, all right? Don't try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic."

For the younger crowd that’s never seen this absolutely amazing scene.

This is so sick that you can have Kimbrel as setup and Hendriks close or even the other way around. If Sox have a lead after 7 they should feel good most nights.

I watched an interesting documentary on FS1 this afternoon (see the replay at 2:00am tonight).

The book was set in the Iowa City area and it seems like they knew they wanted eastern Iowa. There was some woman in Dubuque that did some work for them and she scouted sites. They needed a big White House with a porch and a long drive way. And there needed to be room for a baseball field close to the house.

"People will come. They'll come to Iowa City, and they'll think it's really boring".

If only we could return college football to its roots.
This. People who aren't even casual baseball fans are nutting over an MLB game in the middle of a corn field because of the "cool" factor, but we have to have a college football super conference that will alienate half the country because of an expectation for another buck-fifty-seven in revenue. Stupid *******.
