Tell me why Memphis and Boise St. should make the cut this time vs last time. Both of these make WVU look like MIT when it comes to Academics. And as far as Boise the rest of their sports and facilities are a joke. I mean Blue gimmick turf should be banned in major sports.

Most of these are bad but if anything matters beyond Football at all some of these are just ridiculous.

God I want out of the Big 12.

I don’t understand this post. ISU fans are allowed to discuss possibilities and concerns for our future. It’s pretty well established that we all hope for a Big Ten invite someday.

While a BIG invite would keep ISU relevant and in some money, I think there are fans who will see it as orphaned ISU going to live with the rich Uncle BIG and all his blood kids. Uncle BIG dotes on all his kids in front of orphaned ISU to let ISU know where it stands in the family. Saving grace would be if orphaned ISU could kick the snot out of 80%-100% of the blood kids.

I would love to ban any more Texas teams in the conference... Nothing good has come from the conference when we cater to that state...

We already play 3 Texas schools. Don't need more "exposure"

Give me BYU, UCF, USF and Cincy. Championship game in Jerry world but but the conference HQ to KC!!

If CMC doesn't want another Ohio team in the Big 12. Go get Memphis.. 1.3 million people in Memphis, FedEx would be an AWESOME partner and they have a passionate fanbase with no NFL teams in the area

If we have to add four, I’d prefer BYU, Colorado State, Air Force, and Cincinnati.

For the life of me I can’t understand the directional Florida school love. I don’t care how big those commuter schools are. No one watches them unless UCF has a twelve game win streak. West Virginia is far enough away. We want to add another distant satellite or two?

I like Boise St, as the 4th. How long have they been good at their current level 20yrs or more? The average ENGAGED college FB fan knows, they are legit team, you would not want to see them on your teams non-conf schedule (in short they are a know brand in CFB).

They have many downsides but lets be honest what matters here, are they good at football and would the average fan want to watch them. Houston, Memphis, SMU I dont think they bring that to the table, but I could be wrong.
I like Boise too. A recognized national brand.

Can you show some TV viewership data that proves UCF is a worse option than a Memphis/Navy/Colorado State/whoever you actually want? Because it sounds like their TV numbers are good, and their attendance the last two years pre-COVID (44,000) is better than all options but BYU, and already comparable with K-State, Baylor, TCU and way better than KU.

Who gives a flying ****? The big 10 allows Iowa State to continue to grow its brand.

Why wouldn’t you want the best possible landing spot?

If you didn't make the cut the first go around, I doubt you warrant consideration now. Cannot imagine much has changed for those schools in the last 5 years.

It isn’t so much the schools have changed, the media models have

I agree. ISU's primary effort should be to get into the Big 10. Does an expanded Big 12 provide stability for ISU and keep us on par as the other power conferences? How will we compete in recruiting in an expanded Big 12 as being pondered in this thread? We need to think Big, be positive and be aggressive.

The overlap of both 2016 finalists and the schools Tramel says are expected to be finalists are BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, and SMU.

If that is the case, I think SMU is clearly the fifth-best option, and there is a clear top four.

If the league decides to expand only to 10, the decision might get a bit tricker. But I just think 12 is better for the reasons that matter.
I don't feel the Big12 should add anymore Texas programs- we already have Baylor, TT and TCU. Any Texas school added would be the 6th best school in Texas.

Look at other conferences and it is unusual for a conference to have more than 2 teams from the same state. ACC has 4 NC schools and Pac12 has 4 CA schools. In both cases, 2 of the schools are the premier state schools

If the Big12 expands, it needs to expand its footprint. Expand the Big12 brand, not focus it. I am torn because it would seem BYU & Cincy are the obvious choices. But IMO the Big12 would be better off to go east or west. I guess they could do both if they expanded to 12 or 14.

You know what we need? How about another post about BYU, Cincy and other expansion candidates. Better yet, let's have more pod arrangements and teams on a map. I haven't seen one of those in awhile.
