“Following two days of consultation with the athletics directors of the continuing members of the Big 12 Conference, commissioner Bob Bowlsby stated, “The eight ADs remain committed to furthering the Big 12 as one of the nation’s premier athletic conferences, and look forward to working with our presidents and chancellors to strengthen the league. Future exploration by the group will continue to center on options that best position the long-term strength of the Conference.”

Big 12 Statement - Big 12 Conference (big12sports.com)

All those words strung together yet not one thing of substance said. All that statement said was "We met and said some words".

I don’t know why so many are complaining about this - with OuT/SEC/ESPN buyout looming, they can’t say anything else. They all could have landing spots elsewhere (I don’t actually think that’s the case) and they’d still have to say the same statement if they want the buyout money.

Agreed. This was the conference making an official statement because everyone was clamoring for one - and yet they didn't say one relevant thing. Not that I expect them to. Not until everything else plays out.

The Big XII can't do anything to make me believe it's a strong & stable place to be in the college football landscape. Hopefully Jamie and Wendy can get ISU in a better spot. In the meantime, get used to hearing a lot of "we're sticking together" talk until OU and Texas actually leave and the conference media deal expires.
