yeah it means we didn’t panic and ou and it have to pay
At this point I think we could do something constructive, maybe come up with all the new names we can think of for the Traitorous Two.And we're not doing anything until the defectors settle up.
So we’re going to ignore the fact that those “city schools” or “directional schools” are actually large institutions with passionate fanbases, just because we don’t like that they’re named after a city or direction? UCF is the largest school in the country, they’d be a better addition than New Mexico. When has anyone ever cared about New Mexico football?Posted this in the other thread.
Really hope that the service academies are getting consideration. Would be great additions for academics and add some historic rivalry games. Would go to 14 with them, BYU, CSU, and New Mexico. Conference would have somewhat decent geographic coherence, good academics, and a chance to solidify and grow in growing states particularly Colorado and Utah. Geography matters at least in my mind. Kansas west through Utah, Kansas south through Texas. WVU gets some Eastern competition via Army and Navy.
Really do not want city schools (except maybe Cincinnati), or any directional schools. UCF, Boise for instance make no sense geographically among other considerations. Those types of conference affiliations seem like a gimmick to me.
Sort of starting over here - need to build something that can last and provide stability. Would ideally have ISU in the B1G, but in lieu of that - this is my best shot.

Relegating to the weakest, imo, is still a stretch. People don't realize the situation the Pac12 is in. They, simply, can't demand the audience. Too much else going on in that late timezone. Unless they change their footprint, I don't see them ever getting out of the cellar.I’d take being the weakest P5 as long as we are still P5. I just don’t see us staying P5 though.
what a weird dude. This post has been reported for trolling. Please let me know if you would like to discuss my position on its merit.
Just some questions:
Are TX and OU still officially members of the Big 12? If so, aren't the remaining eight now colluding and creating a potential for TX and OU to withhold any payments because they were not in the meetings?
What statement should we expect at this point, having been less than two months into this thing?
There is an incredible demand for information from our respective schools and the Big 12 itself. In an effort to accommodate this, the Big 12 releases a statement that is a word salad and clearly heavily lawyered.
Pretty sure the bylaws state OU and Texas don't have voting power anymore. The R8 even have the power to distribute revenue anyway they want....I have no doubt that the remaining 8 have every right to plan for their futures without any inclusion of the teams that are exiting.
I really don't understand the Memphis love, they do nothing for me. Low fan base, not good academics, worst football stadium in fbs. Nobody can convince Colorado State couldn't turn into an Iowa State, Kansas State or Oklahoma StatePAC-12 Grant of Rights expires on 2025. Oklahoma and Texas (as of now) are expected to honor the Big-12 GOR until 2025.
Before the OU & Texas to SEC new broke, the PAC-12 was the weakest power 5 conference. What's stopping the Big 12 from pouching PAC-12 schools if the Big-12 can guaranteed more money. Also, why shouldn't the Big-12 explore going beyond 10/12 teams and go to 16?
It appears BYU has been confirmed to "add value", so if you're heading west why stop at BYU. When the PAC-12 GoR expire say go hey (X,Y, & Z PAC-12 schools) come join us. On top of those 4 schools we're adding UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, & Memphis. I'd think this conference would bring more value than anything the PAC-12 can muster.

Well yeah. I’m sure reading something reasonable, is a weird experience for many here. Anyway, stop deflecting.what a weird dude.
If the big 12 does not stay in the playoff system ...The big 12 WILL GO FROM YOUR TV SET ....TO A STREAMING SERVICE.....I mean, so long we have access to the playoff, this will be fine. Loosing access to the playoff will be disastrous. We just need to remain as a power conference.

Edit: UCF is the largest school, not second largest. Almost twice the size of Iowa State.
I believe UT and McGill are AAU institutions as well.UT = University of Toronto
make it happen big 12 you have nothing to lose and it would bring major viewership
There is no landing spot right now, because right now none of the other Power Five conferences want any of the BIG XII LEFTOVERS.....SAD BUT TRUE.I don’t know why so many are complaining about this - with OuT/SEC/ESPN buyout looming, they can’t say anything else. They all could have landing spots elsewhere (I don’t actually think that’s the case) and they’d still have to say the same statement if they want the buyout money.
Thanks. I appreciate all the responses to my questions. The traitors are now disinterested parties which means they have no vote. The first meeting, they chose not to attend so they laid that groundwork themselves.
What payments would they withhold. The conference gets paid and then the conference hands out the money. The GoRs gives the schools media rights to the big 12 until 2025. The conference can sit on the payments and pay nothing to them now because they broke the rules stipulated in the Bylaws.
