Iowa will be the best team ISU has faced since the Notre Dame, in the CWB.

Iowa would get smoked by Oklahoma, this is the dumbest thread I've seen on here for quite some time.

Go through each position, Iowa State has the better, more experienced players on both sides. If we lose its because the offense has a repeat of UNI.
That might be a stretch- better at each position? The biggest difference this year is experience. Super seniors on one side- probably a bunch of NFL guys, but young ones, on the other side. Iowa’s ‘speed/talent’ is too often overlooked by us. So, Iowa State is by far more experienced…more talent is subjective and probably not accurate.

This thread is the definition of a dump and dash. Iowa is good. I think better than Oregon last year. But Oklahoma last year is much better than Iowa. Keep on mind Indiana’s best win last year was vs 4-3 Wisconsin.
And don't forget they almost beat Ohio State which makes them like a top team to all the national pundits.

Most seasons I’d agree with you. But this season we absolutely have more talent at almost every position. The big question will be if our guys can actually put it all together this game or if they **** their pants against Iowa again this year.

Is Jack Campbell better than Mike Rose?

As I heard it, this Iowa team is scary enough that the Steelers of the 70s changed their uniforms to match these Hawks.

What if I told you that this past Saturday in Iowa City was the first loud home football crowd in college football history.

I think it will play out like it usually does…Iowa’s units will have more NFLers. The upgrade in talent at ISU is real, and we’re so much more experienced…but honestly, how many go next level?

That said, Saturday isn’t an NFL game, and some of there’s are just babies.

All I’m saying, we here this same claim every year because we don’t like them, it’s a different conference, etc. but the have really good players we don’t know, or hardly ever will because the viewing of them ends this week for a year, and we’re not real objective in our hatred of them.

Discounting Iowa’s talent is something I don’t think the staff will do.

Right now? I’d go with Rose….and he is one of our future NFLers IMO. But great example. Campbell, barring injury looks better than a bunch of their’s that enjoye/enjoyed NFL careers at this stage of his college career.

both will have their moments Saturday

Iowa drives me crazy.
They will not turn the ball over, play good special teams and have 1-2 broken plays on offense they capitalize on . KF has MC's number so it will be interesting.

Didn't realize Iowa hasn't turned the ball over against us since 2015....

Indiana as a program is way too much of a question mark for the premise of this thread.

If Iowa had just soundly beat Ohio State or even Wisconsin I'd give the OP's premise some serious consideration. They looked great. We don't know how good Indiana is.

I do think that ND team was a tougher matchup than the recent wins and close losses vs OU we've had.

Maybe Petras will change my mind but nothing I've seen from him yet tells me he's nothing more than a very very average QB who isn't overly mobile.

Iowa's biggest weapon is LaPorta the TE. He's good and they are gonna throw to him alot.

Iowa back 7 is legit..I'm just not sure what to make of Indianna. Penix the QB was incredibly bad.

Goodson and their running game can be and likely will be a handful. Teams with legit defenses will make Petras beat them. I'm hoping we are one of those teams, at least our defense seemed to be further along Saturday.

Yeah they almost beat Ohio State after Ohio State got bored curb stomping them for 3 quarters.

It's like if last year's ISU team had got the same level of national hype, because we almost beat Oklahoma after they got bored with a big lead, instead of actually beating them by just outplaying them the entire game, then taking the rematch into the final seconds as well.

Do you think Iowa state has any chance to win Saturday?
Duh. I expect them to.

I just think the people keep that think we’re better across the board, every stinking year, have major planks in their eyes.

A talented(and young) team is coming to town. I don’t think they’ll deal with the environment well, but still pretty stingy and a tough out
