Iowa will be the best team ISU has faced since the Notre Dame, in the CWB.

We're not better across the board. I think Hall is the better back but the run games and defenses are pretty comparable. ISU's passing game should seem better to an objective analyst, especially with Kolar.

Our skill players have more experience in big games and the game is at home. Their offense looked like they had been practicing well in game one and we looked like we had not for some reason. Then I look at the last four years and realize we always have an early game like that for some reason and sometimes even the next week it's completely different.
Goodsen can be somewhat of an equalizer and I think he, along with their good defense, can and will keep them in this game.

But Brock Purdy > Spencer Petras in every single way. This is a big game for Brock and the passing attack, I think we need some chunk plays to keep their D honest and spring Breece.

Just finished watching ISU's and Iowa replay.

Iowa is fast and athletic on both sides of the ball. Iowa's 50 yd first score was a TD to the sideline almost at the same time the ball was handed off to the RB.

Hall/OC coaches are going to have to figure our how to get open in space. Hall needs 150 yards+ for ISU to have any chance. Unless the pressure is off Purdy, 'twill be a long day.

I think you need to rewatch the Iowa game.

They are no where close to where ND was then or now for that matter. We're the better team with better players (more AA's, more 1st team all conference players, etc). Oh, and we have 4 players on the Water Camp watchlist. 'Bama, Clemson and ND have 2 each for comparison.

Iowa played no one last year and beat the teams that they should've. The B1G was really bad last season too. Their "greatest win streak of all time in college football" was against sub .500 teams save Wisco I believe.

We'll win this game. If we play well it could be by 2 or 3 TD's. If we play like we did vs UNI, then it'll be a squeaker. I swear, the posters poor-mouthing ISU and its talent in this thread are infuriating. And most are ISU fans for crying out loud.

They don't have the length and speed ND did at WR but other than that, they look like ND physically. ND was a game where we physically whipped. Iowa is going to be a major challenge. They are comfortable in tight games, keeping close, then waiting to capitalize on a mistake. I worry Purdy will turn it over once or twice. Iowa also has the ability to hit on a big play just when they need it. They are not afraid to take shots, the thing is can Petres hit on them. I find it hard to believe we are going to score more than 20 on Iowa, our defense is going to some how have win it for us. We we struggle scoring TDs against Iowa unless it is from far away. Doing a sustained drive and getting it to the red zone it where we stall, either with a mistake like a false start, a penalty, turnover, or FG attempt. We struggles against UNI last time and against an Iowa defense that is not as good as this one could only score 16 points.

They don't look like Notre Dame 2019 physically.

The top 4 or 5 teams the last several years have been on a different physical level than the rest of the college football and Notre Dame is one of them.

OP might be right
But I doubt it
on paper ISU should win , but it will probably be a close tough game
Iowa‘s defenses sub 25 point consecutive game record is more impressive than this board gives them credit for

It is impressive.

ISU will need to do be succinct if/when they get inside the 20.

Sure. But who have they played in that time? It absolutely is impressive because sometimes you even can let bad teams track race with you for a while. But when was the last time they played Ohio State? How many actual good offenses have they played?

To be fair to the OP, he wasn’t saying Iowa was as good as ND. OP is saying Iowa is better than OU from last year, which is pretty bold.
