Go back and look at Purdy's last 16 games, they have have not looked that impressive statistically including:

-7 games with less than 200 yards passing.
-11 games with 1 or less TD passes

Breece and the D have been carrying this team. Purdy is a good game manager for Campbell's system. But he has routinely not shown up for:
-Early games against cupcakes where your QB should set the tone
-Iowa games
-Championship and Bowl games

I honestly don't think it would be a huge drop off
Agreed, hes had 2 NFL running backs and the best defense in the Big 12 his entire career to bail him out.

I cannot believe 35% of fans on here voted yes...LMFAO.

If there were a single reason for the greatest 3-4 year run in the history of ISU football it is BROCK PURDY...and it isn't even close.

He had a really bad game...Unfortunatly vs a Top 10 defense.

I really love Dekkers upside and his future but the entirety of how this season goes is on Purdy.

Purdy was definately off today no doubt for whatever reason but 2 of those INT's aren't really on him.

1 was just a great defensive play by the lineman to get his hand up and another XH 100% has to catch that ball that went right off his hands..

Not to mention the 50/50 jump ball XH just fell while the Iowa defender completely out muscled him for the INT.

Purdy is just taking the brunt of the entire offense being bad. He was bad but there are a lot more problems than the qb. Hutch was abysmal today, and I can’t evaluate anyone else because they were invisible.

I don’t care how accurate the deep pass is, the goal is to get your big physical WR’s a 1 v 1, and our guys failed that 1 v 1 every time. The line got their asses handed to them. Tom Brady isn’t going to be successful in that scenario.

You start Purdy. With that said I’m starting to become of the opinion he may not give us our best chance to win. He was very marginal last year and this year has obviously been bad. It’s too bad because you wonder about his health. But I would start him with an eye towards a quick hook in the more meaningful games to follow.

We are in desperate need of a Hakeem Butler type WR.
Really needed a step forward from Scates or Shaw, which hasn't seemingly happened with Scates yet and Shaw is hurt.

Would like to see more and more Jaylin Noel as the season moves forward, though. Really lean into the youth in the receiver room except for XH and see if any of them can thrive given the chance.

Should Dekkers start? Not yet. But it's a legitimate question, and that's a huge cause for alarm.

It's always felt to me like all this talk of "Matt Campbell is comfortable in 13-10 games, that's just who we are" was kind of a cop-out for inept offense, and this first two weeks has proven it. No reason to struggle this much.

I am really worried about Manning. I thought maybe, after the Fiesta Bowl he had made a leap. He just kept hammering Bryce off the tackles cause that is what was working. But man, he just can‘t decide what he wants to do.

I am not sure what the answer here is. Gosh I wish he could figure it out and find his identity. He might be just too young. Not sure what it is, it is almost like he has to have this perfectly balanced offense and won’t keep going to what is working. He has his moments of being really good, but he just gets out coached way too much and his side of the ball is only ready to play about half the time.

Not sure what you do here if you Campbell, you have a coordinator that has pretty clearly been exposed the last two weeks and has no answers. Maybe Tom needs a little more help in certain situations. Not a great situation to be in.
I also think it’s funny how some one here after last season thought Manning could be a head coach somewhere. Maybe at a high school.

Additionally, look at what Saban did with Jalen Hurts and Tua. Campbell doesn't owe Brock anything because of what he has done. This is big time college football. You perform or you're on the bench.
The Pat McAfee show just talked about this the other day. Their quote was “Everyday at Alabama is a reckoning.” Either you perform or you’re out.

We need speed at WR.

Yep. Need to prove that there is a legit threat over the top, both in a receiver to get deep and a QB to hit him deep.

Look at the difference Desean Jackson made for the offenses he was on throughout his career, even if he didn't have huge production on his own. All of a sudden Kolar is given more room to work with, same with XH. Breece gets to run against a lot fewer stacked boxes. Would do wonders for the offense if someone could step up in that area.

Brock Purdy is the best quarterback ever at ISU but when he is throwing the ball it’s going Kolar or Hutchinson. He doesn’t even have a third or fourth read anymore. It’s those guys from the snap and it’s freak out mode if either throw isn’t there, then either run or force it in there.

Manning is the problem, in this game you dink n dunk 5 yards here 6-8 to eight here to keep the chains moving and wearing down their defense not throwing deep in tight coverage.

Dekkers came in during garbage time when the Hawks were playing their soft defense trying to chew up clock. I like Dekkers, wish him well since he is an Iowa kid, but I wouldn't give up on Purdy...tipped balls, right place, right time. I thought the first one was just an absolute killer because you guys had something going with those 10-15 yard outs plus the crosses on the previous series. Trying to hit a home run from inside your ten was just bad decision making.
How is this not more obvious to everyone? This is 100% accurate. Some people really showing their lack of football knowledge in this thread.
