I'd like to see Dekkers play the first half against KU.
No. I hope he plays and I think the kid is incredibly talented but no.
I don't think Brock is quite as good as some think he is - but this is his team and he played reasonably well on Saturday. Not great, not elite, but well enough. Sure, the snap between him and Newell is an ugly memory but overall, he played well enough.
My issue with him is the idea that he's untouchable. No one on this team should be that untouchable.
In games vs. Power 5 conference teams - non conference and bowls and teams not named Texas tech and Kansas - so other bowl quality programs basically.
I think he has 40 touchdown passes and 24 interceptions. Or something like that. I did not include Louisiana, UNI, UNLV.
Now, obviously, there are factors such as weather, getting hit as he released the ball, tipped passes, etc...granted and fair points all. But its still concerning that over that much time, the number of interceptions.
He's a good college quarterback. He's by everything I've seen from afar, a good teammate, person, leader... but that doesn't make him elite. It should not make him untouchable. No one on this team should be.
Does he deserve to get pulled?
I don't think so. But I also don't like the idea that somehow he means so much he can't be pulled. The New England Patriots decided to go on from Tom Brady. The Colts cut Payton Manning. the 49ers moved on from Montana. I don't like when MC implied there was no scenario where Brock's position would be threatened. I don't think that's a good luck to the rest of the team but that's just me.....
as for the records... its partly the number of games. He's started a long time and been a good collegiate quarterback for a while. At a school that doesn't have a bunch of NFL star quarterbacks as alums - you're going to set records when essentially you're a 4 year starter.
