Chicago Bears bought Arlington Heights track only to build next to Soldier Field?

My concern is KC would be going from the greatest parking lot in sports to downtown with almost no parking, correct?

Correct. It's an absolutely asinine plan.

Kaufman as it sits is unique and they just put a ton of money into it. Great place to watch a game that's incredibly easy to get to and get in and out of.

The downtown facilities work better for baseball and football where they are smaller, hold fewer fans and have a lot more inventory. I'm not sure this is such a bad idea really. Anyone have experience with the new place in MPLS? Rams and Cowboys build their monstrosities in the burbs, right?

The Dallas Cowboys would like a word.

No kidding. Arlington is is a good 20 minutes to downtown Dallas. Without traffic. And it used to be in Irving. Their little headquarters/shopping area isn't even in Dallas. It's in Frisco. Do the Dodgers play in LA?

MPLS train works really well from when I've been to events.

Soldier Field is a trash stadium by nfl standards. They need to build a top shelf retractable dome stadium.
Now if they can sell the team and let someone who cares about winning run it, that’d be great too.
Oh and a new GM and HC

Makes sense for them. Plus with the regular season being a week longer in January it would make sense to have an indoor stadium. Football outside in January in Chicago sucks.

Yes. Dodger Stadium is on the north side of LA. Just north of downtown and Chinatown.

Not to mention that a KC downtown stadium would not have a skyline view due to their need to face west (to a degree). If you're not getting a view with a new stadium, what's the point? The K has a unique distinction of not being overbuilt with gaudy and unnecessary features and overdesigned architecture like most new stadiums. It's a baseball stadium meant for baseball.

So? People from suburbs of big cities usually say they are from that city. Unless they are talking to other people from that metro area.

So? It's true and it's funny!

Raygun put it on a shirt because people from actual cities (in this case Chicago) enjoy making fun of suburban people who say they are from their cities ("Chicago"). We know it takes place in every city, but Raygun has kept this particular shirt in print for maybe as long as 10 years, "so" I must not be the only one who likes it.

I grew up in "Chicago," spent my young adult years in Chicago, then moved to suburban "Chicago" for our young family years. I think it is hilarious. If you don't, fine. I just thought I would share, but didn't expect to have to justify doing so. Perhaps the additional explanation helps.

We tend to usually stay in Plaza. Take MLK to LC's for BBQ before games, then take a wooded back road to the K/Arrowhead. Works great.

The funny thing is that people from Arlington NEVER say they are from Dallas, they always tell you Arlington.

Ok. I guess I never thought much of it. Most people who don't live in the Chicagoland area have no clue where Naperville or Schaumburg are located. Same with Dallas Metro-Plex. Where the fu@@ is The Colony? Dallas? Sure.

Honest question. I lived the the DFW area for many years. If a person who lived in Richardson was talking to somebody from Dallas, they wouldn't say they lived in Dallas. They would say Richardson. Now, I have no idea. Does somebody from Buffalo Grove tell somebody from Chicago they are from Chicago? If so, then yeah that's funny.
