Given how slow the MBB threads have been lately, I thought a poll might stir up some interest (and distract us from some other sport). Who do you think is the best MBB team in the Big 12 conference?

Looking at ESPN's coverage of the top 25 teams, I personally think Texas is the team to beat this year (yes, it pains me to say that nowadays), but KU and Baylor could be top 10 teams too. OSU looks like a team that could overachieve, but they lost last year's best player in the country in my opinion. West Virginia is West Virginia.

I think Texas will be good but is kind of an odd collection of guys and I am not sure how they are all going to fit with Beard's style. And KU has so much experience, I am going with them. I actually wouldn't be surprised either to see Baylor ahead of Texas. Those three teams will be very good. OSU is good. Not sure about the rest of the conference.

I’m thinking (subject to revision closer to season):
1 KU
2 Texas
3 Baylor
4 West Virginia
5 Oklahoma State
6 Texas Tech
7 Oklahoma
8 Kansas State
9 Iowa State
10 TCU
—> UT & Baylor might be reversed.

Going to be a damn good conference this season, maybe as deep and consistent as it's ever been. Would be nice to steal a few wins and build some momentum for the future.

K-State is the sleeper. They were really getting after it at the season's close last year. All those freshmen are now sophomores (see Al McQuire's comments). And additional talent came from the portal.
Gonna go ahead and not put stock in someone's opinion with the last name of " McQuire "

I understand that K-State should be better than they were last year...but picking them to win the conference is bold...yes, even for you.

Texas will probably finish 3rd or 4th. The Beard hype is out of control.

K-State's not winning the conference this year. But they'll be way better than random fans believe today, just like football, or Bruce Weber can't coach a lick.

Until we play the first game of each season, it's my firm and humble opinion the Cyclones are winning the regular season title each and every year. A coaching change has not changed my outlook.
