I know this won’t be overwhelmingly popular but I would still put Breece behind Troy on my ISU RB list. Breece has the luxury of playing with arguably the best Qb and a very competent offense. Troy was making something out of absolutely nothing.

Might not be popular because we all live in 'what have you done for me lately', but what Troy did was incredible, considering that is all we had and every team knew it was coming every play. Personally, I wasn't an ISU fan until I came to school here and missed out on the Troy years, so Breece will hold a much larger special place in my heart, but you can't ignore history like that. 2k+ yards 2 years in a row, Heisman finalist.

Hope Breece can keep it rocking the rest of the season though. Hope the O'Line gives him a chance like in the 2nd half of todays game.

I didn’t want that to seem like I was downplaying Breece at all, my hope is that they retire 28 after Breece than list both guys as why.

I think they should do the same with 11 in basketball with Jamaal and Monte

I am worried that by doing this, we may never have a back of their caliber. It seems #28 is a magic number for us!

I don't know if he's behind Troy - he might be because of the fact like you mentioned It was Troy and - well Troy.

For me they might be tied.

I agree, I wouldn't mind us retiring #28. It's a very well deserved number retiring at this point.

I don’t know, it’s kind of more remarkable that Breece is able to put up the numbers he’s put up despite there other being great players on offense. He’s essentially getting plays “taken” from him with the amount of ball distribution throughout the game and still puts up the numbers he does. It’s not like he’s getting the ball 35-40 times a game.

Troy's OL was wayyyy better than our current OL so he had that advantage. Keep that in mind.

I loved Troy Davis and I think he was a great college RB. However, Breece Hall can do things that Troy Davis couldn’t. A perfect example is the 47 yard TD run that Hall had last night. He was so quick to pass DL and linebackers, then he ran away from Texas DBs. Other ISU running backs from the past including Troy Davis would have been caught from behind by a speedy DB. I think Hall can also run for 2000+ yard if he is the only weapon and our entire offense revolves around him
