Refreshing to see that D, rebounding, hustle, better basketball IQ etc. keep developing and learn from mistakes. Also we have a floor general!!!
That was a great, consistent, strong game from this new team and coaching staff. Well done.
I think this will mirror Fred's first group at ISU. At times they will struggle but more often than not they will show what kind of promise is ahead for this program.
If we want to get excited only to have our hearts ripped out that is our choice, ISU basketball is back and we are no longer the ex who got dumped for the idiot with more money and left with only our therapist.
Ranked 69 on KenPom. For comparison, Oregon State was ranked 70 coming in. It’s still early so the rankings don’t mean much, but it gives you a ballpark. Absolutely looks like a winnable game at this point.
Yeah, I don't get it. Why hold back? TJ and the players aren't. As a matter of fact, they look like they are doing exactly what a first year coach coming off the last year should do......and that is throw caution to the wind and play with your hair on fire. They have nothing to lose and everything to win.
Rebuilding, they lost alot of firepower from last year. I assume they'll be slightly favored in Omaha but we can compete with them with an effort like tonight.
The only team I'm really worried about is Virginia Tech. They are well coached and an annual NCAA team. Memphis is scary also but if we get the chance to play them it might be early enough in the year that all their freshman studs haven't gelled yet.
The only way someone will have their heart ripped out this year is if they cannot stand seeing ISU lose...........................ever.

There were a few in the 'just needs a season to turn it around' type mindset iirc.
Who knows how well TJ works out but denying a change was needed was weird.
The one downer to my first game this year is the new PA announcer. He sounds like a guy I've heard do games at the Well in Des Moines. He did alright I guess but Gary Wade was 1 in a million.
