Small sample size obviously, but...

It's Brockington for me right now. I really like his all around game. Kalscheur can have an effect on the game on both ends. Hopefully his shot starts to fall and his ft % gets back in line with his career numbers because he's doing a nice job of getting to the stripe I'm a little concerned that his mouth could cost us in a key situation. He had the refs on his ass early last night, and an overzealous zebra who wants attention late in the game could have an eye on him if he's been jawing. Same for Conditt.

And all that said, our best player by Christmas will be Hunter and he'll hold that title for quite a while. That kid is going to be really good.
I'm fine with the jawing after the the milquetoast we had the last few years.

Or Rasir whose starting for Gonzaga putting up 15 points a game
He's talented but his attitude was toxic to team unity. Might have been him just doing what he had to transfer out of a bad situation but the players and Pollard weren't going to let him back. He was a ball hog and this team is one good shooter from being pretty legit IMO. JCL would been huge.

Hard to say what a new coach could have done for him but a change of scenery was probably best.

Like so many of the transfers we've had in the past, a change of scenery was likely the best thing for all parties involved. I'd imagine his attitude won't fly with Few like it did with Prohm.

Holy ****…are thoseJCL and Bolton posts serious? Tell me they are funny’s.

I'm not saying I want him back am I?

All I'm saying is a player of his talent caliber would help this team and you cant deny that.

Two games in...very early on...but who is going to be the guy that can drive to the hoop and draw fouls? That's a very effective way to compensate for bad shooting, like the first half against Oregon State.

Brockington is on pace to set some kind of And-1 record, so I think it's safe to say he's a good candidate.

I think all three guards are good at driving the lane.

Re: the zone… we really looked helpless, but I think that can be fixed schematically/with practice. A lot of guys making the right cut at the wrong time. But ISU also had multiple possessions (or at least it felt like it) where the shot was the first time the ball crossed the 3 point line. Even if your point guard is Steph Curry, that’s not an effective way to score.
Also, OSU had the size to make that 1-3-1 really problematic. When you don't just have someone on the front of that zone disrupting the ball reversal but someone with that kind of length it makes the pass take a lot longer to get there so the defense has a lot of time to adjust. Generally the baseline corners is the place to attack that zone but with slowed ball reversal it is tough to exploit. Beyond Baylor I don't see a lot of teams ISU will face that will be as adept at that zone with that kind of length to run it.

I assume most of the JCL/Bolton comments are (mainly) regarding untapped potential (i.e., squandered last season) and how it could benefit depth/rotation for this season's team.

Nothing against the guys who transferred away, but my view is, it might be a better long-term benefit having to rebuild almost entirely from scratch.

Fit is important for teams. Those guys were Prohm Hail Marys. I wouldn’t want them near this year’s team.

Agree, for the most part. Perhaps merge-able into current lineup, but at this point, the fewer the ties to past couple of seasons, the better (and probably beneficial for most departures).

I have no idea how well TJO will do long-term, but one thing we know is it won't be a "wait until he's coaching 'all his guys.'" That's already here.
