Iowa St should show Coach Campbell the money. He had a down year and still lots of buzz around him. Let’s be aggressive and ensure he stays!
The thing is honestly I don't necessarily think/know if money is what will be the deciding factor. Just listen to the guy and pay attention. I don't think he's a money-chasing type of coach EXCEPT for his assistants.

If he leaves to go anywhere it's going to be because it's the challenge and program he wants to succeed at next (and that could be re-building a program, competing for a national title, whatever he thinks that is). Just my opinion.

You show Campbell the money to ensure stability for the program, including recruitment. He can reach the Playoff with Iowa St.

I think JP and Campbell both know Campbell just has to name the number and if it’s actually feasibly possible, it’s his.
This and unfortunately, it isn’t a money issue. If Matt needs the money he stays, if he loves ISU, he stays, if he feels he needs a new challenge, we are ******.
I’m not saying we could beat USC money, but cost of living we could kill USC. It will come down to where he wants to be.
ISU doesn’t pay me ****. In fact I give them a **** ton of money every year with donations and my daughter going to school there. One reason I still live in the Midwest is to go to games on a fairly regular basis.

In the new Big 12 especially I agree. If the Big 12 has a guaranteed seat at the table for the CFP moving forward he could turn ISU into the new version of OU and be competing to go to the CFP multiple times in a decade since the playing field will be much more level not having OU and Texas in the league.

Bingo. We know wherever he goes if he does leave will have a big price tag attached and people nationally will only focus on that. But that big number is going to be there no matter where he goes. What I feel Matt truly cares about is deeper than that, and the bolded part of your statement is just that, it's where does he WANT to be and see himself being?

I just saw a Breaking News red banner on ESPN and my heart sank. Turns out it was just MLB free agent signing. Gonna be a long week ahead.
Ha that’s funny because even though I know we will hear it online long before espn would run it bottom line I had the same thought.

I look at that as a fortunately, not an unfortunately. Our inability to pay what the big schools can pay is our biggest weakness when it comes to Campbell. If he indeed doesn’t care about that, it’s great for isu.

Yup, if Matt is who he is on camera, I have no fear of him leaving. If he wants something else, then anywhere is open. I
Does he want to be the next Bill Snyder, Kirk Ferentz (Minus all the racist, free housing stuff) or does he want to be the next Pete Carroll (minus the cheating) making it to the NFL and probably soon to be fired.

Yeah, it would suck to win a college football National championship and a super bowl in a career.

With the way Stanz wrote his column after the game and his semi-cryptic tweet of saying goodbye to JTS, I’m maybe a little more worried than I expected to be…I think I have closure no matter what Matt decides to do, but I can’t imagine an ISU Football program not coached by Matt Campbell at this point.
