Another thing I love about what is going on here, and TJ even talked about it in his press conference after Hinson left, is everyone is given a role and expected to play within it. There seems to be a high degree of unselfishness right now and they look like they are having fun. I've honestly never seen Conditt this engaged in his 4 years here.

Hunter-floor General
Gabe and Brockington- shut down their guards on D and a green light to shoot on O
Conditt-Rim Protector, rebound and clean up garbage points inside
Enaruna- play solid D and slasher on O, shoot when you have a good shot but not the focal point of the offense
Grill- Hustle and green light to shoot 3s, ball handler in emergency situations, good at breaking press
Kunc-Junkyard dog, the player who does alot of little things well that get inside the other teams head
Tre- play 10-15 minutes, take care of the ball, focus on D, and take an open 3 when you get it
Jones- Spell Conditt for 10-15 minutes

Agree.
Hopefully TJ can get King in camp for the conference games. While Jones role is to spell George, it looks like he won't be much of threat to score inside.

Is it actually possible King is eligible second semester if he commits? That would be a huge get.

What was the technical about at the end of the game when George was shooting free throws? I didn't hear the commentators say anything about it.

Number 0 was running his mouth. After the first Conditt miss, he said something as the ref gathered the ball and got a 'T'. I saw it happen in real time and the commentators missed it, the game was well out of hand at that point so they were less engaged in play by play

Said it prior but they seem to know where they stand which makes a difference.

Thanks, I had the same question - all of a sudden we were shooting a bunch of FT's and the announcers not explaining anything. So is Gabe our designated 'T' shooter ?

Yeah, Northern Iowa has mostly been well below average in forcing turnovers. They've had a really solid defense at times, but it hasn't had a lot of ball pressure.

Northern Iowa hasn’t had a good defense for several years, they just play really slow which leads to low scoring games. 2018 was the last time they were in the top 100 in defensive efficiency.

Did you watch the Duke-Gonzaga game? Bolton looks like the same old player. A chucker who can put up points quickly but doesn't play a lick of defense and doesn't seem to want to run the offense.

Judging by last year I doubt either of them would have fit with what TJ is trying to implement here. I assume that's why Hinson left, he was told to play D or sit the bench.

I did watch the Duke-Gonzaga game and bits & pieces of other Zags games. I disagree on Bolton. I think he knows his role on that team. He wouldn't be playing, much less starting if he didn't.

Grill shot them in one of the earlier games. I'm not sure we have anybody who is such a great foul shooter they would be the automatic choice and Gabe had the hot hand so they picked him. Brockington probably would have done it in the Xavier game.

Less engaged? Hard to believe.

Doesn't have the team best % but nobody is shooting 80% so maybe go with the games hot hand?

Way up there
The guards have played great and they are the strength of this team but coming in, I think we all knew that group could play with a lot of teams. The biggest difference in this team is the frontcourt being a legit p6 group.

I love the 4 man group we have, super versatile with a diverse skill set. I think having capable scorers like Jaz and Enaruna lets George and Jones settle into roles they are better suited for.

Conditt didn't have a great stat line last night but still neutralized Duren in the box score. He had to battle for everything both games in BKN against some big, strong, physical teams and was able to hold his own. He had a low key great game last night, despite being in foul trouble.

I also really liked the lineup with Jaz and Enaruna on the floor together, that group has the potential to really spread teams out.

The line ups/rotations have been seamless so far.

Likely to get tripped up by someone like Self but I like the start.

GC played 17 minutes last night, Jones 9. 14 minutes with no traditional big on the floor. The line-up versatility is great!
