The only way a 2 loss Bama gets in is with complete chaos next weekend:
UGA beats Bama
Iowa beats Michigan
Baylor beats Okie state
UH beats Cinci
CBS Sports has an update today:

- ISU v Clemson in Cheez It in Orlando. Would be a good game in my opinion
- Iowa vs. A&M in Citrus - good lord please let this happen. A&M would absolutely boat race Iowa.

Disagree. Cincy has the sorriest schedule ever. Their only tough game was against an ND squad that had one of the softest schedules as well. Since ND played a bunch of cupcakes, it’s hard to tell how good that win from Cincy is over ND. Oklahoma State will leapfrog Cincinnati with a conference championship and Alabama will make it as long as they don’t get blown out by Georgia over Cincy.
Yep. And Bama should get in. No one here would bet their house on Cincy to beat Bama. Unless they're lying.
Cincy beat 3-8 Navy by 27-20 - they had 14 first downs to Navy's 22, and were outgained in total yards too.
Cincy beat 6-6 Tulsa 28-20 - and gave up 300 rushing yards to them.
Cincy beat 2-10 Tulane and looked very average doing it.

I agree, but I do not want to be in Orlando with Iowa. Staying in the same hotel with Michigan while they were in Citrus was bad enough.

Navy shouldn’t be included. Those military schools are weird.

Ok so you are one of those “There’s zero point in playing the season because these are the best teams on paper and eyes. Damn the games!”

Wish someone would have told us that’s how it works because preseason #7 we would be playing this weekend in Dallas with at most one loss. Damn why did we have to play games and prove it on the field?

Might as well not play the games if we're just going to reward teams for Vegas betting lines.

I don't think so. A&M doesn't have a QB. Iowa manages to avoid good QBs every year. Their OL would get dominated though.

I get it - winning games doesn't matter anymore.

It really is the most bizarre sport where it really doesn’t matter sometimes what you do on the field of play and we are all ok with it. It’s so freaking weird.

That unbeaten Patriots team didn’t actually lose the Super Bowl to the Giants. The Patriots were the best team easily so why did they even play that game.

My thought on Bama is they get a shot at the perceived best team in the country this week. They have their chance. If they lose they shouldn’t get a mulligan when there are other teams deserving and we don’t actually know how they would do against Georgia without seeing them play. And Cincy could get whipped by Georgia. Well fun fact so has everyone else.

Has anyone looked into going down to Orlando assuming that is the case? I had been all in on Orlando again as it was a warm weather place that seemed to have some decent activities. It wasn’t real centrally located but the plan was to do Disney this year. I looked today and Disney is booked that whole week. Not sure about going now.

I agree with your assessment.
Alabama is east for me, Win and they're In - Lose and they're Out. IMHO - it shouldn't even be up for debate.
Georgia becomes problematic if they lose. They probably still have the "eye test", which I think is BS.

I like to think the committee would pick an undefeated Cincinnati over a 1 loss Georgia team for the following reason. The point is to pick the National Champion, and if Georgia loses, they should be eliminated because Alabama would've just beaten them on a neutral field. Alabama shouldn't have to do that twice to win a NC, and neither should Georgia, or any other team for that matter.

The only caveat with this is if a 1 loss team's only lost is on the road to an undefeated Conference Champ - Ohio State could've been in this boat and been knocked out of a Conference Championship game due solely to whether a game was at home/away in certain years. This was all made moot by losing to Oregon, but it can definitely happen in some of these 2-division conferences.

Would anyone really be surprised if ND makes it in over Cincy? In the same breath, the committee would praise ND for a quality loss to Cincy but then decry Cincy for a poor strength of schedule.

CW said on his pod that Jamie may say no to Texas Bowl (crappy date, further travel, etc.) in order to slide into Memphis.
Memphis vs. an SEC team would be ideal.

Fans can drive, and an SEC opponent that ISU can beat would be G-R-E-A-T!
