This team has guts. I want 12-0 before conference play to have a monster head to head with the defending National Champ Baylor bears. It would be such an incredible come back story and TJ and the guys have earned it. Hilton would be on meltdown.

They might lose one or two before conference starts but Hilton should still be jacked up for this team all season.

My wife and I were watching the game on TV and, after Hawkins buried that unbelievable deep 3 in the first half, I said to her, "You watch, this guy is a native Iowan, so he will probably go off against us tonight for 25." I didn't actually see his final numbers until sometime after the game. I looked at the box score, and then asked my wife, "How many points do you think that Iowan scored against us? She said, "25." YEP. This is the one thing that always concerns me when we play against Iowa - the vast majority of their players are from Iowa and seem to generally play "out of their minds" against their in-state rival. Hopefully our D can repeat this performance next Thursday!

We are not going to see Kolar or Allen come play for the BB team.

Will we? Wait, maybe. This team is pretty inspiring. They could even inspire Kolar or Allen. I'd give it a 10% chance for this team as opposed to 0% chance for any other team or non-TJ team.

It would be pretty cool if Kolar or Allen would want to and TJ took them. Maybe it would help their potential NFL careers, blocking out, rebounding, etc.?

Would also be a National story. I won't lose any sleep over it. Fun to think about.

So, we have 3 Quad 1 type wins already, all away from home. That’s enough for an at-large in March. LONG ways to go and we could still get owned in the B12 because it’s just that good. But we have enough of those wins already…and can get another on Thursday night. I’ll be there and we’d better fill Hilton to the rafters without a single Hawk fan in attendance.

I'm guessing there will be plenty of Hawk fans there, too many people dropped out during the Prohm yrs. Hawks were thinking easy win against a team that was terrible last yr probably bought tickets. Crank the defense up on them, send the team home with a loss and their fans quiet. That's what I want Thurs. nite. Poor shooting tonight hopefully means good shooting Thurs. But I really don't care as long as we win.

I can't think of any instances of playing an ex-Cyclone coach before the two against McD.

There might have been some in the pre-Johnny days of yore but not since the 1980s, right?

Never played Floyd or Larry again, if I remember. Nor Fred or Prohm. Morgan never coached again.
