He wrestled his teammate in the Luther open. The father of his teammate was obviously cheering for his son and Desanto went after him when the match was over saying he was going to kill him
This might be lost in all the banter but back to some actual wrestling talk. Coach D says they are sending multiple guys to midlands at 149, 165 and 174. That’s great news to see how they stack up and figure out line up questions.
We need to figure out 149. 165 will continue to be what it is. 174 I assume is really down to Devine and Broderson?
I am hoping he means Broderson as well. Haven’t heard anything on him lately but excited to see who wins that battle and does better at Midlands.

LOL at Gonzo trying to "both sides" this thing when Terry was acting like an asshat all night and sprinted into the ISU bench right as the meet ended.
All this garbage reminds me of the fake wrestling that was on TV when I was a kid and Handsome Harley Race would jump off a rope with a folding chair. Never watched much wrestling except my kids’ friends in high school. I don’t know if the Brands are psycho in addition to despicable or they think this would drum up more interest in their sport. It makes me less likely to watch but I suppose others might like the bs. Seems like a draw for tavern Hawk crowd.

I think Broderson is a little dinged up which is why he hasn't been wrestling. Hoping he's healthy by the Midlands.

Same here. Those 2 young guys pushing each other will be great for the next couple years. Hoping to see one of them grow into 184 and fill out for next season after Coleman as well. Both need to continue to develop this year

My couple of takeaways related to the actual wrestling...
- We are improving! I know we're sick of losing to Iowa and want to win some more big recruiting battles, but man we're taking steps forward on the mat. We won 4 matches tonight and the Hawk "backups" excuse only applies to 125. We were straight up better at 3 weights and yes that applies at 184 because Coleman beats any of Brands/Assad/Wilson there. We also lost three other matches by a combined 5 points at 133, 149, 174. We're getting closer.
- I really wish we got them in Hilton next year rather than this year - with extra covid year we can return every starter outside of the two 149s and they've got 6 starters who will be gone. We can win that dual next year, but in Carver that's a TALL order
- Iowa sure better hope they get some dudes healthy fast. They do not look great right now and Penn State/Michigan are going to be nipping at their heels. A lot of their guys would have to max out this year to duplicate last years effort... that's unlikely, especially given how they look thus far.
