Hoiberg and Nebraska Basketball In Trouble

Not surprising, though there were a few gems sprinkled in there such as THT, Wigginton, and Hunter. Do some recruits/families refuse to play the game thinking it's wrong?
Who the hell does Nebraska think they're going to go get? Coach the sweaty guy up on using the NIL to funnel the cash and keep going. Fred is the best they got and he's still better than Scott Frost, who they kept!

He did manage to get talent here despite that. He’s got two guys starting in the NBA.

THT landed here as a result of Dyo's reps dictating that "game" to the Illinois staff...correct?
Some don't play the game because of that. Most of the time, you get family members wanting something though.
Perhaps, but Prohm's results weren't because he didn't have dudes but because his coaching was atrocious.
Feels like to me that you can pretty much get your foot in every door "playing the game" but for some recruits it isn't necessary. There is a much higher number, though, that want something in return?

incriminate? Let me know when someone gets arrested for some run of the mill CBB recruiting violations lol. Everyone has seen Blue Chips, the HC “doesn’t know anything”.
Players can overcome some of it. His coaching and lack of dudes was the end of him.
IIRC there definitely was a lot of talk that THT basically wouldn't be allowed to play there because of AAU drama. Which is an entirely different part but still a part of "playing the game"
Of course Tyrese turned out to be a gem, but I was more thinking the guys that you knew were going to be studs when you recruited them.
TH was a good recruit, but didn't really blow up until he got here.
Also when message board posts end up with actual recruiting violation punishments.
The Hoiberg era is somehow appreciably worse than the results they were having under Tim Miles and even Doc Sadler when they were still in the Big 12. Fred is definitely delving for that rock bottom.
Will always love and appreciate Hoiberg for his memories as a player and as a coach (helping get the magic back)...that being said, wouldn't trade out TJ for anyone.
