Uh - not really? Again.... this is a program that has been to six straight playoff appearances, arguably one of the best programs in the nation, yes, one that has had a lot of turnover recently but still, the cream of the crop, even more so than oregon last year.

I'm looking for competitiveness, growth and flashes and in an ideal situation - a victory but I want to see how the team, especially the guys coming back, respond to facing literally one of the "big dogs" of the sport

Was going to ask if he was watching the same game as the rest of us. Yes, the defense has given up some yards. But the defense has only given up 6 points at the half against one of the best teams in the nation over the last decade AND it's not like the offense has given them a whole lot of help. AND it's playing without Rose, the best player on the defense. If this defense is playing like **** either the OP has insane standards or has no idea what the **** he's talking about. Defense has not been the problem in the first half.

yeah. We are more or less playing with Clemson. Yes, not quite truly elite Clemson but Clemson beat Wake Forest by 21 and South Carolina by 30 the last two weeks. It wasn't pretty, sure. It wasn't perfect, no. But it was pretty darn good all things being equal when arguably three of our best players and probably our best two players overall are not playing.

Or…. if you can’t block…. you need to get creative to find ways to move the ball.

Like…. don’t do a 7 step drop and hold the ball when you know you don’t have time to do that.

Exactly. That's a basic thing. Purdy's tendency to just not play catch with the open guy never quite went away. There's a drop off here and there and it just doesn't happen.

I'd rather ISU figure those out first.

Second half I think we get to the QB a bit more, he looks like a bad decision waiting to happen after that lob pass under pressure.

This is not nearly as bad as I expected it to be. Defense has stepped up, but offense still needs to pull their heads out. Purdy is in panic mode with the constant pressure he's seeing. Gotta calm him down... our OL needs some serious help.

Exactly. I overall like what I've seen. Better 3rd down defense of course is nice but we need some kind of help from our offense and hopefully the offensive line can adjust somewhat to the speed of Clemson's defensive line because that is where Clemson is truly elite. Those cats can move.
