I don't blame Purdy at all for this loss. The conservative play calling is to blame. For years now, Manning refuses to open the playbook until the team is down big. Play aggressively all game and you won't be relying on late game do or die drives.

Manning cannot come back as OC next year. I don't care if he coaches a position, but he cannot be the one calling plays. To

ISU's offense averaged 437 yards per game and was ranked 2nd in the Big 12 this year. So I guess you'd fire 8 other Big 12 offensive coordinators as well?

This game aside, can the Big 12 please start prioritizing bowl games that have premium time slots? The Big 12's conference bowl schedule is kind of a bummer with so many games in non-ideal time slots.

Not a big Manning fan, but CMC is not going to replace his old teammate from Mount U.
CMC is loyal to a fault.

You wonder how people would feel about Brock if he thru 18 INT his senior year and lost to UConn at home. Very selective memories and a ton of nostalgia.

Yet Seneca was up for the Heisman and went on to play how many years in the NFL? Yeah….. he sucked.

Talent is talent….. had Seneca played for the teams that Purdy did….. OMG!!

Yeah, that's why I think he could do something to keep him at as a position coach or assistant OC without play calling responsibilities.

Brock and Seneca got the exact same amount of Heisman votes in their careers.

Just getting back from the game and reading some comments. Criticism of Purdy is crap. Campbell losing his mind over little BS stuff is an issue. Sucked the life out of the team. Purdy **** play followed as did Noel play he should have been booted over. Matt has to control himself in big moments.

Someone who enjoys pain should do the research on the number games in the last 3 years that have followed the following fact pattern:

Go down 17+

Fight back to make it a single score game

Get the ball back with 2 minutes left to tie or win with a touchdown

Game ends on a turnover/TOD

There has to be at least a half dozen

The players need to execute the plays…I mean if you can’t tell that plays were missed by the players I don’t know what to tell you. Many times tonight they were in good positions to make game altering plays and didn’t execute. Not singling out a position group, it was across the whole offense. And before you try to say that’s the OC and OCs job alone to make sure they don’t drop passes, miss throws, miss blocking assignments, miss holes in the run game, save it. It’s not. His job is to put them in the best position to succeed and while he obviously wasnt perfect, he put them in good positions a lot and the players didn’t execute.

When execution repeatedly doesn't occur, when the same plays are missed, when the same mistakes are made game after game, and season after season, it is a coaching problem. It's been said several times in this thread, the offense-side of ISU football is continually disorganized and mistake-prone. It's night and day difference between the defense and offense.

You watched that entire game and your take away was Campbell shouldn’t get mad when they are doing something obviously against the rules and Noel should have been tossed on a play he wasn’t even flagged on?

I love pain, and I'm gonna have to pass on that one.

Seneca was in serious contention one year though…. was being talked about a lot for it….. and there were Heisman videos made of him, etc.

Noel wasn’t the only one who made those blocks, just the only one the announcers pointed out. It was to the whistle not after.
