We shall see where he ends up. I will be validated!
I think he'll have a good landing spot. He's obviously proven he can make plays. He would play a lot at ISU if he were still here next year. He very well may have started and played a ton of snaps.

But it is not an opinion that Freyler was cutting into his snaps more and more as the year went on. It's not an opinion that Craig McDonald was an absolute fixture in the lineup late in the season. And Anthony Johnson is coming back, and apparently is going to move to safety, but I don't know if that is confirmed. Isheem's role is more murky going into next year than it was coming into this year.

I'm not of the opinion that he wasn't going to play much or wouldn't have a great chance to start and play almost every snap. I'm also not of the opinion that a good team is going to regret giving him a scholarship. But the way snaps were trending late in the season and the idea of AJ moving to safety seem to suggest he is certainly not a lock next year. He struggled against the deep ball, and he was not a sure tackler. Freyler, McDonald and AJ are damn good tacklers. I'm not sure about Freyler in coverage, but McDonald and of course AJ are good in coverage.

It could be as simple as Isheem wants to go elsewhere for personal reasons. It could be that he thinks he needs to play a role that ISU doesn't allow him to best prepare for the NFL. It could be that he didn't like losing snaps through the season and doesn't like how next season is shaking out. It could be some combination.

With the way Freyler was playing down the stretch and how he played in bowl game, I doubt that happens..
Freyler has been super impressive in the limited time he has gotten to play. Still hate to see Young leave. Guy was a great tackler.

So based on the last couple pages we've determined that Young can't cover and can't tackle, so this is a good thing, right?

Guy was a force out there, but if you go back and look the game the pass defense was really bad, you will see Young was the guy usually running to catch up to the guys making the big pass plays.

Committing this week. Lot of comments on the tweet coming from Ole Miss fans. Also saw some OU and Penn State fans in there too.

According to this thread we should hope for OU since we'd be able to abuse him in the passing game.

I don't think we should hope he goes to Oklahoma. This thread may have decided that Young was not good enough to play much with ISU, was a liability in pass coverage, and didn't wrap up on tackles. But, he'd obviously still be an upgrade over whatever Oklahoma has.

I'd say that Freyler was/is better in coverage than Young. What he's not is an enforcer like Isheem is. I feel like IF Anthony Johnson is really moving to Safety, Young may well have still started if he stayed. But I guarantee his snap count would have dropped. He'd be closer to half the snaps instead of 3/4.
