Department chair has observed a class of mine on Wednesday and Monday. I assume he'll visit the other one tomorrow.
I've never seen that before outside of promotion cases, but I don't have a promotable job.
It's quite odd. I just tell myself along the way that there's probably a Powerball-sized check at the end of the unannounced observations.

Maybe you're being considered for full time

I like to think so, but they don't just hire folks here that way.
In the handbooks, the chair can kind of unilaterally hire lecturers for a time, but that's not considered full time or secure.
For FT as ISU would consider it, they would need an opening for someone in my specialty and do the whole, full-blown search. They would also need at least one of the other 4 in my general area to leave and create the opening.

So it's possible there's a chance at continuing in something like this. Otherwise, well, maybe, but it's stretchy.

Also, about a third of my US 1 students at DMACC are high school students taking the course online.
I had a pretty cool day last week when one staffer sent that report. I had included some of them on the non-attending report, so they'd been dropped already. We worked together, coordinated with their high-school advisors or whatever and managed to bring them back along.

This class in general is breaking the mold for the school. I'm trying to have things posted a couple weeks ahead of where they are, but they're catching up over and over. It's cool, a different experience, but goodness, I won't be staying ahead.

Sounds like they're engaged and enthusiastic about the lessons. Good for you!

Busy work week.

Debating trading in the van for a newer version. I am obviously not in the industry but it is Interesting to me that KBB and NADA are $4k apart on trade in value.

@ImJustKCClone, Well didn't see your post till I got back so missed your granddaughter. Sports bar manager would have been nice to her with the hope of getting hooked up to free beers while watching games. :D

Well shucks on the game tonight not enough offense to get the job done. Easy trip back to CR.

Got wings to go from wingstop Louisiana rub wings are pretty good cold. I was disappointed that they shorted me a wing. Oh well didn't figure it out till like 5 hours after I picked them up, maybe next time I'll count them before leaving . Well at least one more day on the route see how the day goes tomorrow.
